HP Color LaserJet 4600 Keeps Calibrating

When a customer prints a job the printer starts to calibrate and will keep calibrating and not print the job.

Replace the Jet direct card in it. I had a similar problem and replaced the Jet Direct card, all was good never had that problem again.

Calibrating the printer using HP Toolbox
Use the following steps to calibrate the printer using HP Toolbox.
1 Open the HP Toolbox.
2 On the Troubleshooting tab, click Calibrate now.

Calibrating the printer at the control panel
Use the following steps to calibrate the printer using the printer control panel.
1 Use the (LEFT ARROW) or the (RIGHT ARROW) button to select SYSTEM SETUP and then press (SELECT).
2 Use the (LEFT ARROW) or the (RIGHT ARROW) button to select PRINT QUALITY and then press (SELECT). CALIBRATE COLOR will display on the control panel.
3 Press (SELECT).
4 Use the (LEFT ARROW) or the (RIGHT ARROW) button to select CALIBRATE NOW and then
press (SELECT).
5 Press (SELECT) to start the calibration.

I have an HP laserjet 1015. recently, when I print in color it's printing with some shift (like seperating the gray scale from the main color. it happens when I print image or text. when I print plain...


The problem is due to colour calibration failure. It's possible that certain sensors which are used for calibrating may be dirty or in the worst case a hardware failure with the calibration modules.

The specific printer is known to collect dust on the laser module. Refer to the service manual on how to service.

COLOUR AND PRINTING OUT OF ALIGNMENT LOOKS LIKE A GHOST EFFECT


Check the following steps :
Double-click the HP printer icon in the system tray at the lower right end of your desktop. Navigate to the "Toolbox" tab.
Click on the "Status" link on the left side of the window. Scroll through the "Status" menu and click on the "Print Info Pages" link.
Click the blue "Print" button located to the right of the "Configuration Page" heading. Check the print page to see if the "L" shaped bars are overlapping or bleed into each other.
Contact HP directly for a repair or replacement if the "L" bars do not have any overlap, as that will indicate an extensive mechanical problem that can't be fixed through troubleshooting.
Return to the "Toolbax" tab if the color bars are overlapping. Click on the model number of your HP color laser printer at the upper left end of the window. Click on the "Device Settings" link.
Choose the "Print Quality" option and then click on the "Calibrate" button on the right side of the window. Click "OK" in the new window that appears and wait for the alignment calibration process to finish.
Attempt to print a document again and see if the alignment is still off. If the alignment is not correct, repeat the calibrating, since the HP color laser printer may need to be calibrated more than once to fix the alignment.

I changed the trasfer kit on my HP Color LaserJet 3500 and now the print is very light. I used and OEM transfer kit and followed the instructions provided by HP. Help

Calibration is a printer function that optimizes print quality. If you experience any print quality
problems, calibrate the printer.
1. Press MENU to enter the MENUS.
2. Press to highlight CONFIGURE DEVICE.
3. Press to select CONFIGURE DEVICE.
4. Press to highlight PRINT QUALITY.
5. Press to select PRINT QUALITY.
6. Press to highlight CALIBRATE NOW.
7. Press to select CALIBRATE NOW.

Printing quality off? 2550 HP laser jet?


When installing new cartridges, it's always a great idea to perform a cleaning and recalibration of the machine. Below are the steps needed to do just such a task. You may want to print these out or save them somewhere for future reference as well. They are directly from the HP website.

Cleaning the printer
  1. Verify the printer is turned on and in the Ready state.
  2. Open the HP Color LaserJet 2500 Toolbox. Click Cleaning Page on the Troubleshooting tab, and the click Print (HP Color LaserJet 1500 or 2500) or Cleaning Page (HP Color LaserJet 2550). A page with a pattern prints from the printer.
  3. Remove any paper that may be in tray 1.
  4. Remove the page that printed and load it face down into tray 1.
  5. At the computer, press Clean .
Calibrating the printer There are two methods of calibrating the printer manual: at the printer or from the Toolbox on the computer. From the printer Turn the printer off and then on again. From the HP Color LaserJet 1500 or 2500 Toolbox on the computer
  1. Open the HP Color LaserJet 1500 or 2500 Toolbox in one of the following ways:
    • Double-click the HP Color LaserJet 1500 or 2500 Toolbox icon on the computer desktop.
    • Select Start , Programs , HP Color LaserJet 2500 , and then HP Color LaserJet 1500 or 2500 Toolbox to open the Toolbox from the Windows desktop.
  2. Click Diagnostic Tools on the left side of the screen on the Troubleshooting tab.
  3. Click Color Calibration to perform the calibration procedure.
From the HP Color LaserJet 2550 Toolbox on the computer
  1. Open the HP Color LaserJet 2550 Toolbox in one of the following ways:
    • Double-click the HP Color LaserJet 2550 Toolbox icon on the computer desktop.
    • Select Start , Programs , Hewlett-Packard HP Color LaserJet 2550 series , and then HP LaserJet Toolbox to open the Toolbox from the Windows desktop.
  2. Click Print Quality Tools on the left side of the screen on the Troubleshooting tab.
  3. Click the Calibrate Now button to perform the calibration procedure.

Magenta backgrounding


If the magenta is low the waste bin may be full and that may be causing the problem. If this is the case you need to change the toner. You can try calibrating the printer. You may have to do this 3 times in a row for it to make a difference.

Press Select-check mark button
Use arrows to go to Calibrate Color
Press Select-check mark button
Use arrows to go to Calibrate Now
Press Select-check mark button
Press Select to Confirm Calibrate Now
