Question about DISH Network 322 DTV Receiver

122 Error (Communication)

It seems the unit will not read its own S00 number that is embedded for the smartcard technology. How can I reset it or force it to read what was originally programmed? Can I reprogram the S00 number?

If it has an internal smart card it is possible that dishnetwork has the wrong smart card number listed for that receiver on your account info, no there is no way to reprogram it

You mean the dish N card with the channel logos on it? If it doesn't read it then its the wrong card. You can go into setup and try to test system and see if it reads card. If not you have a damaged or tampered card. And no you can't reprogram the card. Atleast not Legally!

Please, what does the word "haptic" mean ?

Haptics is any form of nonverbal communication involving touch
Haptic customs differ greatly throughout the world. In many Spanish-speaking countries of Latin America, people greet each other with one kiss on the cheek, for example in Argentina. In Spain, people greet each other with two kisses on the cheek. In Colombia, shaking hands or verbal greeting is common and probably without hugging. In Peru, when men greet one another, they usually do so shaking hands or with a verbal greeting, otherwise, whenever a woman is involved, greeting involves kissing on the cheek or verbal greeting. In Brazil, kisses when greeting women can vary from one to three, and be fake (kissing the air) or on the cheek; men can salute by shaking hands or demonstrate comraderie by slapping one another's shoulders or backs.[citation needed]
In the United States, the main form of greeting is shaking hands, though when greeting friends it is not uncommon for them to hug.[citation needed]
Every culture has a different perception of touch as communication.[1][unreliable source

Frequently displays " Internal communication

Hi jesterr9 my name is Mike Houston of DISH Network Executive Office. When you receiver is showing internal communication and keeps resetting the can be a couple different things making this happen. It may not have the current software downloaded as well it may have a bad smartcard inside as well. The current software as of 1/12/11 for the VIP 211 is L5.61. To find the current software press the MENU button two times.

My Whirlpool GHW9100L was tripping out with a F11 error during the rinse/spin cycle as the unit was ramping up to spin speed with a small load in the wash bin. I reset the unit several times after...

Hi.

In your case the problem is more likely a worn connector or a defective board.

F11 is communication error between CCU (main control unit) and MCU (motor control unit - additional control module connected to motor and to CCU, located in a sealed box inside the washer).

This usually means that either CCU or MCU is defective. In some case the connectors or the wiring harness connecting the two modules is the problem.

The tech sheet says:

F11:Serial Communication Error
Communication between the Central Control Unit (CCU) and the Motor Control Unit (MCU) cannot be sent correctly.
Solution:
* Check Wire Harness connectors to the MCU, the motor, and Central Control Unit (CCU)
* Check the Drive system for any worn or failed components
* Check MCU
* Check CCU
* Check Motor
* Check Wire Harness

The wiring harness is tested using a multimeter to ensure that there is continuity between the MCU and CCU connectors. If a single wire is good it will read zero Ohms (closed) from contact to contact.
Motor is tested reading Ohms, it must be read about 6 Ohms on three different pairs of contacts.
Drive system in motor is checked observing if any of the parts are broken.
MCU and CCU are tested reading volts during operation and testing at component level. The testing must be done by a tech. Check CCU to see if there is any sign of failure (eg burnt spots).

Most of the time the problem is CCU. Trick to repair it include testing and eventually reheating the solder joint of the two on-board relays, cleaning connector contacts with circuit cleaner solution. This in case that the problem is CCU.

Disconnect the unit from power for five minutes as first test. This will reset CCU.
