XP provides buring software for CD-ROMs

First check device manager to make sure CD-ROM is listed. If it is listed, try to use XP to write files to the CD.

Norton should not have affected the CD writing capabilities.

If you cannot write to the CD, use device manager to remove the CD-ROM, and then restart your computer. New Hardware utility will reinstall the required software

Hp notebook will not recongnize dvdrw

Update your firmware on your burner that might help. If not try a DVD Laser cleaner, to clean your head. If that doesn't work then it is your head. I am sorry to report that, but is the only thing it could be.

Cd dvd / driver issues

I would suggest downloading Driver Magician. There is a small fee to register the product but once this is done it searches for and updates all drivers on your machine. Worked like a dream for me.

LG GH22 dvd writer - not reading

I had the same problem with the GH22 Internal drive on vista. Assuming this is the only cd drive you have, just go to the device manager and remove/uninstall anything under "DVD/CD Rom Drives" then restart. It should get picked up and recognized properly. It took a couple of restarts to work. For refrence, I only have the LG GH22NP20 installed, what appears in device manager are 2 items... (1)HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GH22NP20 SCSI CdRom Device... (2) KU1051Q EAG855E SCSI CdRom Device... Incase you have multiple cd drives, this should help tell em appart. Enjoy. IDK399
