Question about Belkin Computers & Internet

2 Answers

I have a fairly new Belkin USB Dual PS/2 adapter that quit working. I unplugged it two days ago to take my laptop in for service and when I brought the laptop home and plugged the adapter back in, it wouldn't work. I've restarted the computer, plugged the adapter into different ports, including a Belkin 7-plug docking station and none of that works. Can you help?

I don't think there was a CD with my product. The reason I say this is I don't remember installing it; rather, I think I just plugged it in and it worked. I also can't find it in 'my computer' or going into my control panel.

    What do you think?

I have a Belkin USB Dual PS/2 adapter and it has stopped working. The other technician told me to reinstall the cd and I told him/her I don't think mine came with a CD as I don't remember installing it and it doesn't show up when I search 'my computer' or going into control panel, it doesn't show up there

I don't think it is repairable. But you could have bought a new one for $10.

It is here on eBay : http://cgi.ebay.com.my/Belkin-USB-Dual-PS-2-Adapter-F5U119vE1_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQitemZ120380220043

That is the best thing we can do.!

Hope I helped with the repair of your problem.
An Accept from you is how I get paid.
And a positive feed back tells me how I did with the repair.

The connection on the rear of the hub should go to a USB connection on the laptop, not a PS/2 connection. A PS/2 to USB adapter is used to connect a PS/2 keyboard or mouse to a USB connection.

First unplug your router, then unplug your modem and for 10 seconds. Next plug the modem back in and wait it to reboot(on mine this a series of 4 lights that light up in sequence, when the 4th light stops flashing, reboot is complete). Finally plug your router back in.

Keybrd quits working on laptop after ctl-alt_del to reach login

Repeating keys? This is a common problem for KVM switches if you go beyond the devices' capability. As you can see, GCS62 is a PS/2 KVM switch and it was designed to work only using a regular PS/2 keyboard.

This KVM switch does not support PS/2 to USB adapter. It might work but it's not guaranteed to work correctly. This does not work properly if you have a docking station for the laptop. It might work for couple of months then it would stop.

You smay isolate the problem by following the steps below:

1. Connect the keyboard directly to the computer to see if you will get the same problem.

2. Power cycle the KVM switch by disconnecting it from the computers and leave it unplugged for a minute or two.

3. Avoid using hybrid connection (PS/2 converted to USB) only for testing purposes.

4. If that work, then you know the answer is that this KVM only designed an work correctly with native PS/2 connection.

Belkin wireless keyboard receiver won't work with my laptop

Yes and no...
"Wireless enabled" means you do not need a separate adapter to connect to a wireless NETWORK or computer, not a peripheral device.

I assume the two connectors are PS/2- plugs - one pink, the other one green. What you need is a PS/2- -to-USB adapter that should have come with your keyboard. PS/2-in, USB-out, either with or without the cables (see picture)
