Firstly check the power supply and all the cable are properly are plugged or not.
After check The SMPS FAN are working or not or cpu fan is working or not .
put out the ram and properly make it dust free. and after put is properly.

Use the System restore utility (programs -> accessories -> system tools -> system restore) to restore your computer status to a date when your sound was working properly.

i have seen this many times, you need to carry out a repair installation of your operating system as the boot loader has become corrupt, boot up laptop while pressing f12 (on dell splash screen) and you will get a boot menu with option to boot from cd/dvd drive boot to your reinstallation disk , choose option to repair as this will keep all files and folders you already have, BE CAREFUL NOT TO CHOOSE CLEAN INSTALL AS WILL WIPE ALL DATA

RAM is corrupt...long beep denotes no RAMs or RAM is not working properly....

Check to see if the monitor cable is connected properly.

Amber led simplifies a start-up-error. This could be a number of things.

For example:

Check if HDD is connected properly

Check if RAM is connected properly / also if this is damaged your pc wont start.

Check your m/board for any loose capacitors an if they are not popped at the top.

Your LCD screen is properly plugged in to the m/board and if the cables aren't damaged they are very thin and fragile.
also could be the power supply...

It happend when you have not turned off your pc properly for few times or you have a sever virus in your pc....

Now wat u can do is... just put the windows CD in and repair the windwos....
