Question about Brother IntelliFax-2920 Plain Paper Fax, Copier and Phone , 33.6 Kbps Modem Laser

Changed the toner but it still says "unable to print"

I have a FAX-2920. Just changed the toner, followed all the instructions but it says unable to print and advises to see the troubleshooting in the manual - which I did. This says to switch on and off and then if it still doesn't work, to leave it for a few minutes. Tried all of that but nothing works!

Put the old tone back in machine. Does the problem still exist? If not try another new toner.

If it does then you may have a mechnical failure which will require a service center.

How to replace in k


Your machine is a laser type fac (not inkjet). It does,t use ink, but toner. To learn how to replace the toner cartridge you should read the User's Guide.
You can download it from here: Brother FAX-2920 User's Guide
manual.
Look for section "Troubleshooting and routine
maintenance" / Replace the Toner Cartridge / How to replace the toner cartridge and Replacing the Drum Unit (pags. 112 and following of the User's Guide).

Brother Intellifax 2920 Error "Unable to Print"


Check the flux capacitor, those usually go out on brother faxes.
I just replaced mine last week, same problem.

I changed the toner and now I get a broad black line down the side of the paper when a fax prints.


Clean the charge corona wire on your drum unit. It should be a green plastic handled device located on top of your drum unit. Move it forward and backward ~ 5 or 6 times, then reinstall drum unit.

Toner for fax machine 2920


If your machine is a Brother Intellifax 2920, it does take a TN-350 toner cartridge. Maybe you were wanting to replace the Drum Unit instead, DR-350. I'll bet this info is useful, yes?

Changed the Toner in Fax Machine and Still reads "Low Toner"


First, the obvious
  • Did you gently rock the toner cartridge from side to side to evenly distribute the toner?
  • Did the cartridge "click" into place?(did lock lever pop up when it was inserted)
  • Did you replace the protective cover securely?
Another thing to check is cleaning the Corona wire inside by sliding the Blue tab back and forth several times. Important to return the Blue tab back to the "Home" position afterward.
If you've done ALL of these steps correctly, and the low toner message is still there, a service call is in order. Best of luck with your machine!

this sounds trivial but when you changed the toner did you follow the instructions that were included in the box?

Brother machines have to be doen a certain way or the page count on the cartrigde will not reset and will still say low/empty etc
