In my compaq window vista compute ,cursor is jumping.pls help.tks

Hi,
If you are using a mouse, change it or try using a mousepad. If it happens on the trackpad then you need to uninstall and replace the driver.
To do that you need to right-click on 'My Computer' and select 'properties'. Then choose 'device manager' (top left) This will list the hardware on your computer. Expand 'Mice' Right click on your mouse/trackpad and choose uninstall. Close all the windows and restart the computer. It will load the new driver automatically.

My Kensington 72216 mouse makes selections automatically.

Have you installed the drivers for your mouse? Sounds like you need to install the drivers. I looked on there site and they don't have separate drivers for each mouse. I'm guessing you need to download the mouse works program and install it. Here is the link to the website to get that software. After you install that software for the operating system your working on, your mouse should work fine. If i helped please leave me a rating. If i didn't help, comment and ill try again.

Automatically cursor jumps . When we type in the cursor automatically moves fromm one place to another

Hi,
I presume you have a touchpad under your keyboard.
Usually the hand position when you type is such, that it's very easy to involuntarily lighlty touch the touchpad with the base of your thumb, usually the right one, when you move the hand over the touchpad, mostly in the up-left direction.
This causes the cursor to move to some other place, usually up and to the left, resulting in the next characters you type being put in that place :)
Try to keep your hands a little bit more above the touchpad when you type. Also, many touchpad drivers have settings for ignoring light touches/drags, try looking into these settings in your pointing device properties.
As an aid, I would recommend a soft gel wrist support, which automatically elevates your palms above the keyboard.

Keys on left side of keybord do not work

if you have a laptop with special keys left of the keyboard, you may need to install drivers and or software for them, look for them at the makers website the the brand and model of the laptop or keyboard.

if its a special keyboard look for its drivers and software at its makers website.

also if after all that the problem is still not solved make sure hid input service is enabled.
info on the service:
http://www.theeldergeek.com/hid_input_service.htm

how to turn it on or check its status

press the windows key and R key at the same time or windows key first and then r.

in run menu write in services.msc
presss ok or enter

in services look for HID input service or similiar make sure its started, right click on it and select properties make sure its set on automatic start up and start the service if its stopped with the start button. Apply, close ok. should work.

What the issue is, is the eraser head mouse in the enter of the keyboard. When you type, it's putting uneccessary pressure on it, and it makes the pointer move. The only solution I know for this is to get the updated ALPS driver for the mouse, and disable the eraserhead (The updated driver gives you an option to do this), thereby using only the touchpad mouse.

Expert Mouse scrolling problem

I have the same problem running under win7 64 bit, I have just pulled apart my expert mouse\trackball to clean it and found that the scroll ring works by using a little infrared diode ... so no cleaning required ...

the screws for the base are located under the little rubber feet.

So I think the problem may be more related to drivers\software...
at the moment I cant find a win 64bit driver or mouse works application anywhere

Cordless mouse works only with the right click side and can't go

You may need to go ahead and remove the driver for the mouse and reinstall the driver.

You will first need to remove the program by going to "Add/Remove Programs". Once you have found the driver there, then do "uninstall". After the program uninstalls, remove the wireless dongle if one came with the mouse, restart the computer, then use the same disk that came with the mouse to reinstall the driver on the computer. During installation, make sure to re-insert the wireless dongle so that it can communicate with the mouse.

If that process is unsuccessful, then you may want to look into returning the mouse as it may have hardware malfunctions taking place which will require an expert to remove certain aspects of the mouse in order for it to function correctly. Without ruining your manufacturer or store warranty, I would highly recommend taking the mouse back at this phase to ensure you can get a replacement for the product without making the problem worst.
