I am using an external keyboard(Logitech ex100) for my Gateway M series laptop. When i remove the usb from my laptop and want to roam in my house using only the laptop, I have to restore the settings on my laptop. Example being; on my laptop keyboard, the key o has a little number as well(6) when i press, instead of o coming up, 6 comes up. when the keys are pressed on my laptop keyboard, the letters do not come up, the smaller number shows. Happens on the numbers as well. 0 will show / etc.....
How can i resolve without having to restore the settings each time?
You have to unlock the FN key on your keyboard. It seems to be locked in place. I had the same problem and resolved it by looking for a "num lock" , "function lock" or actual blue image of a lock on the keys. Mine is located under the "Scroll" button. Press this along with the FN and your keyboard should go back to normal

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!
