your scooter stops when you let go of the throtle.this is done by a micro switch on the back of the motor.it is called electromagnetic brakes

The way mobility Scooter stops is when you release the throttle, the controller senses the voltage being produced by the DC motor now acting like as a generator, the controller takes the incoming voltage reverses it and puts it back at the motor casing great resistance to turning, which stops the motor. Then the parking brake comes on and keeps the scooter from rolling away.

Why dose my battery charger start for a second and click of

Could be scooter battery voltage is too low for charger to charge battery.

(It is a problem with gel cell batteries I have got a scooter that won't charge at all at home am going to try jump starting with another battery to fool the charger but I might have to buy new batteries. The Nursing homestaff took the scooter off my father in law and left it in the shed to get nice and flat instead of leaving it on float charge I should send them a bill for new batteries

What dose it mean win the led power light blinks 4 to or 8 times

The sequence of beeps are for recognising the fault.A scooter repair shop given this info, will tell you what is required to get you running again.Note, you will be lucky if a repar shop will look at it if you have attempted to fix it yourself & Shoprider unless i am wrong,do not sell to the the public.

I have a c wheelcare mobility scooter that does not run.we bought new batteriies

What IS THE MAKE/MODEL? When it stops working are all the lights out. Dose it have a flashing indicator on the control head? Does it have a freewheel lever. It must not be set in freewheel position. I WD40ed mine they get stuck sometimes. There is a switch associated with the freewheel lever. This switch is unusually the off state what in freewheel.E-mail me if this doesn't work. Oh, make sure you got the key in and its turned on

I have purchased new batteries for my mobility scooter which even when fully charged will not start my scooter. I turn the key but there is nothing ,as if a flat battery . Any ideas please Trudie

The control seems to be the issue. I have rewired so many scooters. When you have power and it wont go, it is usually the control. If you cannot afford the part right away, you can rewire it or have it rewired direct
