Go to husqvarna.com then US the support then product manuals, look up both saws and see if the part no for each saw is same.

Can the chain oiler be adjusted on a 141?

No adjustment possible.

But that can be good news when you got good oil as you can run a longer bar and chain up to 20" The shorter the bar the more oil present on the chain and bar during operation

Chain oil leakage

If its leaking straight out then its not a problem with the pump. The problem lies in the fact that its not making it to the pump, hence the leak. Now depending on the model the pump is often linked to the oil line via a little gromet. Check these parts all link up correctly and nothing has got damaged.

How do you adjust chain oiler, increase or decrease amount of oil

Did you get it Lowes? Most new homeowner class chainsaws have no oiler adjustment (bad idea! lots of problems). If it does there is a mention in the OM under or near bar maintenance.
Intermediate class saws often have a 3 position oiler. The professional grades have fully adjustable oilers.

15 = week produced – March
00198 = 198th unit Husky produced that week

Oil System Plugged:
  1. Remove the clutch cover, bar, and chain, clean the bar groove, any holes and passages on the rear of the bar (both sides, consider rotating the bar), if equipped with a sprocket nose ensure it rotates easily at least one complete revolution. Clean the saw oiler hole and channel. Insert a blunted, hooked piece of wire through the oil filler hole and pull the hose in the oil tank out. Pay attention to the screen or filter on the free end (clean or replace, difficult to determine serviceability). Start the saw and see if it oils when revved up (oozes down side of saw). If yes reassemble your saw. If no, continue with 2.
  2. Work your way through the linkage (use IPL to identify components and locations) cleaning and replacing any defective parts as you go. Carefully check the hoses for cracks especially at bends and connections. If equipped with an oil pump it is usually behind the clutch (clutch is a left handed thread). Please make extensive notes & some digital pictures will help during reassembly.
If it does not oil on completion of 1 it is most likely a bad oiler or worm gear (see IPL).

If you have more questions or need additional help please reply below and I will get back to you. HTH & Good Luck.

May 01, 2010 | Husqvarna "Chain Saw - 16" Bar, 3 Hp

1 Answer

Husqvarna 345 bar oiler

Remove the bar and chain. Start the engine and observe the oil delivery port in the side of the engine case. At a fairly fast speed, the oil should ooze out of the port. If little or nothing, check the pump, lines, and in-tank filter. If ok, clean the bar drive-end holes of sawdust and dirt, especially the small passages that go from the large holes out to the chain groove. Clean the entire groove and the outer end sprocket. Reassemble and test the oiling by running the bar tip at speed in front of a piece of cardboard--it should throw off a thin line of oil after several moments. Hope this helps!

Is this a new saw? If yes please contact Husqvarna about a warranty (2 years) repair. I think you already performed part 1 below.

I've 7 chainsaws. 6 of them oil my bench if I forget to drain the oil tank.

You don't give us a model number not all saws have oiler adjustments. An IPL of your saw with oiler detail can be found here:

Nov 04, 2009 | Husqvarna Chain Saw 20" Bar

1 Answer

I cant get oil to the chain on my husqvarna 345.

You may have a problem with blockage in the oiler system somewhere. Try emptying out all of the bar oil and swishing some gas around in the bar oil tank to clean it out. This will work some of the time. Sometimes you have to take the oiler off and blow thru the lines into the tank,( make sure the oil fill cap is off) and blow into the oil tank out thru the line to clear out any debris . The adjustment for the oil pump should be on the bottom of the saw. Here is the manual with the procedure on page 32 of the manual. Hope that helps you.
