The washer has a new timer, a new lid switch. The knob broke on a sunday I coninued using the washer with out knob and broke the timer. We ordered the new part put it on and it did nothing different. So I ordered a new switch, this new part did not make a difference. I got on this website and also read a reset to do for different models, which has not worked either. It fills with water goes through the cycles with out washing comes to rinse cycle it drains and empties no agitation and final spin only pumps water out. It does this on each setting of this washer.

My model # is GE whdsr209g2ww.

sINCE IT IS THE AGITATE AND SPIN CYCLE THAT ARE NO LONGER WORKING. THE RESET STEPS YOU JUST POSTED HAVE ALREADY BEEN PREFORMED AS I MENTIONED IN MY LAST STATEMENT. SO YOUR SAYING THE MOTOR IS NOT GOOD? WHAT WOULD CAUSE THIS IN A 2 YEAR OLD WASHER?

I bought a new washer, the replys to this were answers I had typed in my original post. Wasn't offered anything else to do that I didn't already know.

If spin always works when you turn the dial to the "spin after rinse" section of the dial, then you have a problem with the timer. Check it a few times to make sure that it really is only the wash section of the dial that won't do spin, because timers can be a bit expensive, and "no spin" can be caused by many things. Once you are sure that it is /only/ the spin during wash cycle, you can do a search for the part by model number (located on a sticker under the lid or possibly on the back of the control panel). Changing them is easy.

Does your washer spin? If yes, and it doesn't drain it most likely a failed/plugged pump.

If it doesn't spin it could be a belt or timer issue..

Old model rca washer machine...will not agitate/wash the clothes, does spin.

If the washer fills up with water and you hear the motor running but the agitator doesn’t move, the agitator coupling is the most likely problem. First pump the water out by turning the timer to spin. Once the water is out, turn the washer off. Now pull up on the agitator until it comes off (it may be hard to pull off). Now that the agitator is off, you can see the agitator coupling, reach down and try to turn the coupling. If the coupling turns freely, it is striped out and needs to be replaced.
