When you turn the printer on - normally it does a ram check and then initializes etc. My printer - the green and red momentary turn on and then nothing but a line of dark blanks - and no ram check.

I have problems with the ram in my laptop what can i do? how can i find out if its a hardware problem or software

To check if you have a RAM problem, go into the BIOS and check the amount of RAM installed, does this match the total amount of RAM installed, if the RAM in the BIOS does not match the total amount of RAM in the RAM modules then you may a faulty RAM module or an incompatible RAM module.
If it is a software problem, a program may require more RAM than is installed on your computer. The software instructions will recommend the amount of RAM your computer should be installed with.

Tip

Pc can't start and beep in cpu.

when this problem, you cand do below step:
1st:remove all cable in cpu cabinate (power cable, monitor cable, etc.)
2nd:open cpu & remove ram
3rd: Clean it.
4th: push properly ram
5th: now 1st step opposite (Connect all cable)
6th:check it.
if your problem still not solved you can check other ram slot.
otherwise you can check ram other pc. if ram not work, it's problem in ram. otherwise you motherboard's ram problem. ok.

I have just installed 2 gb of ram when the limit is 4gb and have about 2,400mb of ram on it and it goes to the password screen I type in my password and then the screen goes black and I only see my mouse...

Remove the RAM, clean reinstall it. If its a 1x2GB Ram then OK, if there are more then1 ram then check removing & installing one by one. there might be some problem with the slot or RAM. If there are more then one RAM and both the RAM is not same capacity then also problem starts. so better check the RAMs for same capacity. if RAMS are not of same capacity then use the hi capacity one & check.

Se7520bd2 - I installed 4 GB of ram (2 sticks) I added later another two ram chips the same mobel. The M/B is not recognizing the 2nd set? My Emial is info@csmc-usa.com

1) unless your operating system is 64 bit, your computer can only use 3 GB RAM maximum, so 4GB is a waste of time.

If you already had two identical sticks of RAM, chances are your BIOS is setup to recognise twin channel RAM is it has larger bandwidth so it is quicker. To use two channels your RAM must be identical in both channels, clearly if 3GB is the maximum you have a lopsided config and you have to swap the BIOS to single channel RAM.

Of course if you have already checked the BIOS rather than windows, and it still only sees 2GB RAM, the problem is a different one.......

1gb RAm

Its the common problem in RAM configuration. sometimes it cant match with the old RAM or cant match with the frequency of motherboard RAM settings,Old RAM.

so, you have to check it out the frequency of the new RAM. and also check it out your motherboard slot settings or ask your retailer about this one...?

most of the times, RAM frequency from the old one. please check it or change it another one for this..

thank you.

Pentium 4 comptability with SD Ram

If you know what mother board you have you could check what RAM it can use.

All RAM is installed in the same way, but different types of RAM are keyed differently. That basically means that one type of RAM (for example SD RAM) will simply not fit into another type of RAM slot (for example a DDR RAM slot).

To install ram on a PC
Please note - do NOT touch the connector side of the RAM, handle it only by holding the side or top edge
1. check that you have the right type of RAM. do this by lining up the RAM above the RAM slot and making sure that the RAM is the same length as the RAM slot AND ALSO that the RAM's key (the little hole or notch in the RAM) lines up with the key in the RAM slot. Note there might be more than one key
2. open both clips of the RAM slot by pushing them down and out from the center of the RAM slot
3. gently insert the RAM into the RAM slot
4. check again that the RAM and the RAM slot's key's line up, if they do, firmly press down on the RAM on both corners until both clips automatically click shut on the RAM

That's it! :-)

Memory

Hi,

Unplug both ram dim. Plugin one single ram dim and check. Remove first and plugin second dim then check is detected ? If both are detected one by one then check clock speed of both rams , it should match, otherwise only one will be detected. Also check motherboard manual for supported ram eg. ddr1, ddr2 , cloack speed etc.

Thanks,

Vksr
