My printer would not print black well even though I had just put a new ink in.I did the printer maintenence clean and first it printed saying that the black nozzle needed cleaning, I did that and re-printed the nozzle check and black printed fine, saying the printer would now work perfectly, however it does not print black well still when i go to print out documents.

The black has just stop printing on my pixma ip3000, do you have any clue what the trouble may be?

  • lasertek Dec 19, 2012

your printhead might be clogged. You can dissolve it by dipping the printhead in a warm water and alcohol solution for 20 seconds. If nothing happens, check one your toner cartridhes. One of them might be already low on ink or empty. Replace it. Also check your printing color preference, Choose whether you want to enable color or black only. See basic troubleshooting here.

WASTE INK TANK FULL

My printer wasn't printing magenta correctly. So I went in and and performed a maintenance clean print head etc and now all colours are printing as they should. If your not sure how to get there follow this - go to control panel, then printers. Right click on your printer and choose properties. There should be a maintenance tab click on this. Now choose which maintenace item you want to perform. Good Luck!

Try a new tank, there are more and more people getting bad ink tanks. HOWEVER if it is a printer that has seperate heads you might have to change it.

Hi There

Follow these steps to unclog the printhead

1. Right click in the printer driver name
2. Select Properties menu
3. Click Maintenance tab
4. Click on cleaning sign for regular cleaning. Perform this up to 3 times.
5. If this does not work, perform Deep Cleaning

And if that not work

Some times it needs a good clean up but this is up to you if you want to do this,
But after you done this prime the printer so it gets the inks back in the heads, it may take a little time for the inks to work.

Ok.

There is fluid cleaner for this but I can never find any in the shops the only ones I seen is when they sell them in Tesco but they come in with the ink refill bottles so I just use worm water by it self on a cloth and dabbing on the heads to clean them, it will not harm the heads but not to much water.

Some heads are on the inks them self but some have them inside the printer so I not know your printer so if the heads are inside you need to get them out you may find that some heads will just clip out put some need to be unscrewed so you got to know how they come out so be careful and not push to hard on them, if the heads are on the ink then it is a easy job to clean them,
It worth a try it worked for me more than ones.

Please all I ask is call back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one, so I will keep on helping.

Print head is fubar and for the cost that Canon will hit you with for a new print head you really have no alternative - new printer is cheaper than print head and also comes with a warranty.

Printing problem

Hey try removing the ink well and using menthylated spirit or rubbing alcohol , soak the base in it for 10 minutes then using a straw blow out the ink holes (where the cartridge slides in) if that fails or you get reults that still aint perfect, as a last resort boil the ink well for a few minutes then will clear it out..

If this fails the the problem my be in the ribbon connecting to the ink well, or in the preprocessor it self. If you can find another one like yours the owner is willing to part with maybe you can salvage these parts from it. If this is not the case and you need to purchase new components the i'd suggest you dispose of this printer and get another it just wont be worth fixing it in that event.

Won't print black

I found a solution to the Black printing problem :)
Under Printing Preferences: Set your Media Type to Photo Paper Pro.
We used edible ink cartridges and printed onto icing sugar paper. Same old... Just one day it refused to print black. In order to continue our small business, I degraded the color until I printed gray and not black.

Tonight, I browsed for the problem and came across this :)

Hope it helps you too
