Question about Planar CT1904Z 19" Flat Panel LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Line of Discolored Pixels Down Center of Screen

Around the center of the screen, there are two vertical lines of discolored pixels - one seems to be green and white, the other purple, which isn't always visible. I tried to fix the problem by updating the driver, but Windows XP only uses a basic Plug-N-Play driver that doesn't solve the problem. Planar says "If you are running Windows XP or 2K, you can specify a digital flat panel display (and your monitor's native resolution) under standard monitor types within the display driver update wizard" but I haven't been able to find out how.

Re: Line of Discolored Pixels Down Center of Screen

Are these lines visible in POST or boot up? if they are then your LCD is faulty.

My crt acer ac512 monitar only centre line view,c"not full view why?

there are several reasons why picture of crt monitors did not display good picture. if your monitor had horizontal line at the center of the screen?...the faulty is in the vertical deflection, check the vertical oscillator also the fusible resistors & capacitors around that section. if there had vertical line at the center of the screen?..check the horizontal deflection, horizontal output transistor also check the YOKE.

Have a purple line that runs down the screen on my s27a950d monitor. is there a solution to this?

You can use this pixel test, this test for dead pixels, but it will also help with stuck pixels, move through the colors, look at each color to see if the line remains on each color, then switch between colors as fast as you can, do this at least 5 times cycling through the colors. If this does not help I think you will have to go to the MFG website and check your warranty. If you don't have one or it's expired and you end up buying a new one, make sure you check, one of the best places around for computer parts.

There's a green line going down vertically on the monitor screen all the time

a resitor line has failed and you cannot fix it, once they fail thats it ,its there for good. Its same as dead pixels on a monitor, except this is a whole line of pixels, if you hit the area above the line hard it will probably go away but will come back sometime, learn to live with it or buy a new monitor.

There is bright green vertical line occurred on middle of the screen

I am afraid your computer's screen has a defect. You should apply to nearest service. If your computer is still in the guarentee period thats fine. There may be exists different guarantee conditions for LCD screens, (death pixel guarantee) and some brands give this against even 1 death pixel. You have lots of death or distorted pixels (a line). Do not lost time and apply to your vendor.

My monitor has a yellow line running down the middle

This is a bad LCD panel. If it is still under warranty, your best bet is to have it replaced again. The only fix is to replace the actual panel and that would cost more than a new monitor.

LCD monitor have Vertical lines and black colour become greenish

normally the 19" resolution can support up to 1280*1024, but if it comes with vertical lines in full screen, it might indicate the panel is no longer to work and probably it's time to replace new one.

Black colour displaying become greenish and narrow vertical lines

Most LCD monitors have a default refresh rate of 60 Hz. Older monitors also have limited resolution. Please check your display settings and ensure you're not using a refresh rate higher than 60, or a resolution higher than what it supports. If either one is the case, you're lucky the LCD still works.
