How to clean REALLY REALLY BAD military bathroom grout

I am a sailor stationed at a squadron in Norfolk that wants to get a heavyily neglected tile floor clean. Words cant describe how nasty this is considering 300 people go in and out of this bathroom of 200sqft. I have a stripping machine and plenty of stripper pads to help. None of the 'commercial' chemicals work well. Im thinking good ole Comet cleaner will work. Any ideas? Id like to be able to walk on this floor as well as my other shipmates without catching some mystery disease that the corpsman and flight surgeons dont know what to call.

There is a deep sink next to the bathroom that pumps out scalding hot water and has threads on the faucet to boot. Will a 1/2" hose (for pressure build up) and a nozzle that squirts a fine stream help?

I salute those who serve our country and provide me the freedoms that allow me to learn at my own free will. For that reason, I hope this can help you and all who read this answer. Thanks Again.

I just learned about this in November 2014. Its called the Cleaning Paste. It was part of sales presentation that presented products for cleaning my home and business.

See the photo, I simply used the cleaning paste and a Rubbermaid brush! Scrubbed it on, then used the EnviroCloth to wipe it off.

Didn't have to let it sit for hours or dry and because it was in the kitchen, I had to be able to get it done quickly.

If you like my pictured results, this is the website I purchased it from.

Along with the Cleaning Paste; I currently own and use the EnviroCloth and just water for cleaning windows, counter tops, shower doors, the microwave, and every other stainless appliance I own. So far, every product I tried has performed above my expectations and I have had customers tell me, that "I'm Persnickety"!

Simply put, the quality and results are impressive. How to clean REALLY REALLY BAD military bathroom g - clean-really-really-bad-military-2a0cfbtak4y3luwyen1qnfe3-5-0.jpg

If you can get a high pressure washer (120PSI). go over twice and then use the stripper. as a final touch, go over with 50% clorox that should do it.

you can lower the pressure and use the hot water, it just may do it.

I would guest, if that is the set up then probably you have go over the place few time before you can call it clean, but you do need some blench.

How to I clean the grout on my kitchen floor?

There are many ways to clean stained grout. You could try one of the commercial cleaners sold on the market and scrub it with a brush. You can also try creating your own cleaning solution. This way you will avoid using harsh chemicals in your home, which is always a good thing. You could try making a paste of baking soda and some water and use it to scrub the grout with, or you could spread some baking soda on the grout and then pour some vinegar on it. After about half an hour you should be able to scrub off the dirt easily. In some cases the grout is so dirty, that the only option is to remove it and apply new one. You can check the website attached, the professionals there know a lot about tile cleaning and maintenance.

Best way to clean grout

I have used a solution of Baking soda and water....with a toothbrush but it only gets some of the dirt up.

The best thing to do is redo the grout and then SEAL it. The sealer seems to keep the grout looking like it's natural color for much longer.

My bathroom needs to be done right now and I was just starting to think about this.

I might try to do it myself first and if that small area doesn't go well then I might need to call my tile guy.

You should never clean the grout with a cleaner. That's what my tile guy said. Just water.

Chemicals turn the color quicker

How install the soap dish

There are a couple of designs, one is surface mount and the other is recessed. Surface mount mounts with silicone (hard to imagine it would last) and the other installed similar to a tile, but using grout. The grout install gets a hole cut in the tiles, goop everything up with grout, and goosh it into the wall, clean same as you would when working with grout.

Both designs need support until the adhesive dries.

I used sanded grout and it appears to have scratched the tile. Is this possible? Would it be a defect with the tile or installer problem?

It's probably a defective tile. Tiles shouldn't get scratched from the grout,so there is probably a problem with the glaze.

yes, you should seal all tile with a 3-5 year sealer. there are many brands to choose from. excess grout should be removed with a sponge and water before it dries. clean food splatters with any safe kitchen cleaner.
