Question about Televison & Video
Zenith TV model B25A24Z clicks when I press power but wont turn on. For months it would turn on but picture wouldn’t fill screen area and it would turn off almost immediately unless the room was quite warm or unless I repeatedly turned it back on after every time it shut itself off. Once it was on for a while it would stay on without a problem. Now I can hear it click when I press the power button or the remote- but it doesn’t actually come on at all. Thank You.

Sounds like the typical Flyback and shorted horizontal output transistor. Problem is the transformer is NO Longer Available

capacitor problems in power supply or a regulater isolate the power suppley by disconecting the line output stage/unplug scan coils for example and run a 60w bulb as a dummy load one wire to earth and the other to rail voltage colecter of line output transister if the bulb glows steady the power supplys fine

SOURCE: tv power wont stay on
The problem that is happening is due to the shutdown circuit activating, which is an indication of excessive current flow. This may indicate a problem in the High Voltage section or in the power supply feed from the HV section. In any case this problem is best dealt with by a trained professional. I would suggest that you take the TV to a qualified TV repair person and have them check it out.
I hope this helps
