There is something in a wad! You cranked it up to warm up. You drove it to the crime scene. You first engaged the blade which was OK?
Then released clutch to drive which, smokes the belt.
Most interesting and perhaps you tried to cut some super thick grass at high driving speed with a low/dull blade and the belt just can't tolerate that combination.

John Deere D110 mower. It quits moving forward after 5 feet. The pedals feel lose, replaced blade, belt and trans belt and axle keys, but no luck.

Quester edited for clarity and spelling 'deer' to 'Deere'.
Question moved to John Deere D110.

Try the 5 minute fix, but your sounds like the hydrostatic transmission.

On my trroy-bilt lawn tractor pony i was in high grass it seem to stop cutting smoke came from the deck stop cutting the handle that engage the blade become reaaly easy to move nothing happened

It sounds like you got into a job that was too big for the machine, and you may have either burned up the drive belt, or toasted the transmission or clutch.
Someone knowledgeable about such things should be able to raise it up in the air and look underneath and discover which problem you have.
God bless your efforts.

Replaced drive belt on 1985 38 inch cut MTD lawn tractor, belt id smoking

Your rubbing something that's not moving I suspect a belt idler or blade hub, as for diagrams the internet has them http://cf.mp-cdn.net/db/30/8c384c4f3c61628a0487bed5f925.jpg

My deck mower(craftsman 917.271530)keeps shredding deck belts

You either have a bad bearing on one of the pulleys or one is loose and moving up and down drawing the belt when it is engaged. I would pull the mower deck off and go through it .

Husqvarna CT151 Smoking

the belt is smoking because a pulley isnt spinning like its supposed to. its gonna break the new belt if you don't remedy the problem. try taking the belt Back off. then see if you can spin the pulleys by hand with no belt .

Lots of smoke when I engaged stuck blades - now runs roughly

Most likely what you did was burn one or more spots on the belt. When the blades and belt stop turning, like in tall grass, the engine doesn't stop and will burn flat spots on the belt at the engine pulley. Every time the flat spot hits a pulley, it will jump and can set up a bad vibration. Run your hand around the sides of the belt or take it off and you will feel or see the thin spot(s) on it. Replace belt.
