Question about Brother HL 5250DN Laser Printer
Check the rear end of the paper tray. There is an adjustable bar for paper size that is probably not locking into place. If this moves accidently when refilling the paper tray. it may cause a rather unnerving noise. You need to adjust this bar to fit snugly with the short edge of the paper stack.

I've had that challenge with mine also. The noise stops once I adjust the paper tray and make sure it's locked.

I ran across this yesterday. tried all the solutions to no avail. the paper would
start to feed but would not go very far and very noisy. when I took the tray out to
investicate the rollers, I noticed one of the white things behind the rollers was down instead of uplike the other two. I tried to push it up into place from the front.
I ended up taking out the toner and sticking my fingers in from behind and was able to snap it back into place. after that it printed just fine and no noise.
