Question about Canon PowerShot SD400 / IXUS 50 Digital Camera
Canon ixus 50 i switched on the camera and the battery when off with the lens kept opened, so i charged the battery and tried to switch on but it is not working, and the lens is opened
Check the battery cover closes properly, the camera will not operate at all if the switch thinks the cover is even slightly open. Try removing the card, sometimes they cause cameras to not start when they are faulty. If all else fails, the fuse is most likely blown. They are internally located just near the power switch but you are best to have a service centre replace it for you. Best of luck.

If your lens is jammed, then there are a few things that you could do, but I can't endorse those methods as they can cause even worse damage to your camera. However, if you look to get it repaired, you can get it repaired for fairly cheap (certainly less than what Best Buy or Canon will tell you) Just do a Google search for Canon SD400 lens repair, there are a few options for you!
