De Dietrich DMP502E1 oven not switching off

Some years ago we purchased a DMP502E1 electric oven and during the course of this time have experienced several problems necessitating calling service engineers to replace circuit boards and, I believe, on one occasion the thermostat.
Most recently, having switched the oven off after two hours use, we noticed that the fan continued to operate intermittently in short bursts of between three and five seconds. We assumed that although the oven was switched off, the thermostat was, in fact, cooling the oven down.
Some hours later, we were alerted to the smell of burning from our Kitchen and on inspection, found that although none of the lights on the oven’s facia were illuminated (indicating that the oven was off) the oven was in fact operating and, in view of the heat that was being generated and the charred remains of the earlier supper, it seemed that the oven was not being governed by the thermostat and reaching "cleaning" temp.
Despite our attempts to turn the oven off using the facia switches, the oven still continued to operate. Ultimately, we had to resort to switching the oven off at the mains.
Some two hours later, on re-connecting the oven, it still would not function correctly. The following morning, we turned the oven on at the mains and found that it could be operated using the facia buttons. However, when we turned the oven off after use, it still continued to operate.
This has now occurred on three separate occasions and, as you will appreciate we are most concerned that the oven has become unsafe and could prove to be a potential fire hazard.
I have contacted De-Dietrich on several occasions be e-mail and letter but to date have had no acknowledgement.

Unlock control panel

Function switch must be in the "O" position
Press the " /\ " button for a few seconds until it beeps.
Then use the +/- buttons to set time.
Try powering off and switching back on again if that doesn't work.

De dietrich range cooker very noisy when oven on?

Have you checked the exhaust fans within the oven? These can make a lot of noise if something has come lose. They should be located at the top of your oven or on the back. I would check that.
Good luck

De Dietrich Oven - Clock tripping back to 00:00 means I cant turn on my oven!

its a fix more than a solution but you can bypass the clock thus allowing the oven to operate again
unplug at the mains and remove the oven from the housing remove the two fastening screws from the metal lid on the top of the oven ,and remove the lid
you will see the timer back panel with 3 wires coming to it, 2 are black (switching line) and 1 is red (Live feed to timer )
If you pull the connectors from the 2 black wires from the timer board and connect the ends together using a connector block, the timer switch becomes inactive and allows the oven functions to operate again.
you will have no timer functions but its a cheap fix and who uses the timer any way
good luck Andy B
ps if anyone has a set of operating manuals for ths oven i would be glad of a copy

Oven Light does not turn off

The problem is due to a faulty door switch, this is part of the door lock mechanism. The reason is that the oven thinks the door is open , this puts on the light and stops some of the oven functions ie the fan the fan element and probably the bottom element.
The answer is to fit a new door lock mechanism.

My oven keeps turning itself off

the oven may be trying to protect itself because of a faulty device that says "I'm too hot". As electric clothes dryers have a thermal high temp limit switch to protect them, look for this device (may be 1 inch round with 2 wires connected) and replace it
