This can be caused by too much refrigerant and can also be too little refrigerant. More than likely it is short of refrigerant which you can check by feeling the tubing on the outdoor unit. If the thin tube is cold or cool and the thick tube has no temperature difference then you are short of refrigerant.

Cruze ac problem both side pressure riding good lp hose too much cool hp normal hit compressor engage good condensor fan good but cooling low not good cooling drive time

Your question was somewhat confusing. It sounds like you may have a set of gauges that you hooked up to your high or low side? Without a proper set of gauges to read the pressures it would be hard to properly assess the problem. A/C is all about pressure/tempeture Depending on the age of your car, you have r-12 or post 90' or so 134-a. Whatever the temperature is that day your pressures should be within a range . If it's too hi or low would indicate a problem. In the mean time it never hurts to clean your coils in a car you're probably only going to be able to clean the condenser. So I guess I would have to need to know what refrigerant you have and what were the pressure readings. You did say that when you turned on your AC the compressor was working?

IF YOUR A/C WAS COOL FROM THE START AND THE LATER ON THE COOL WAS OUT EVEN YOU ARE RUNNING ON HIGH/LOW SPEED, CHECK THE EVAPORATOR IT NEEDED TO BE CLEANED.

BUT IF YOUR A/C WAS COOL FROM THE START AND THE LATER ON THE COOL WAS OUT BUT IF YOU ARE RUNNING ON HIGH SPEED THE COOLING WILL BACK, YOU HAVE TO CHECK THE FAN CONDENSER IT COULD BE BROKE AND NEED TO BE REPLACE.

Ac low low pressure, high high pressure

If the pressures on the low side are around 28-34 PSI then you problemis not the AC system not makeing cold air. Read on.

Air Temperature Control Blend Door Failure No Heat or no AC cold air (dependes on where door sticks)

In all modern cars there is a tiny DC electric motor driven gear drive that moves a plastic door that blends heated and cooled air from the AC and the heater core, this is called (interestedly enough) the air temperature control blend door actuator. The motor that moves this door fails because the door starts sticking from warping, most common complaint is no heat but it can be no AC as well. To replace these parts (blend door and blend door actuator) you must remove the entire dash from the car. Always have this problem confirmed by a dealer or qualified repair shop as it is a very expensive repair.

I have a rooftop ac unit on my popup that was replaced two years ago. The unit works fine but I would like the fan to shut off when the compressor isn't running. Is there a switch for putting the fan...

Please describe your controls. Does it not have low fan, high fan, low cool, high cool on the dial at ceiling? If yes, low cool or high cool setting should shut it down when temperature is reached via thermostat dial.

Ac cools for about 5 min has right level of freon took it to mechanic said it has head pressure of 450 sets off the pressure relief valve

WHEN HIGH PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE OPENS YOU HAVE TOO MUCH REFRIGERANT IN THE AC SYSTEM OR OVERHEATED CONDENSOR,THE COOLANT FANS NOT WORKING,COULD HAVE BAD COOLING FAN RELAY OR BLOWED FUSE.THE ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR FAULTY NOT TURNING ON THE COOLING FANS TO COOL ENGINE CONDENSOR OR RADIATOR COOLANT.

The AC doesn't seem to cool when the temperature in the room in really high, in the range of 90-95F. It works for 3 minutes, and then stops for 3 minutes. Also, I have read the booklet that came with it,...

Hi,
What happens is that the high pressure side gets too high when the temps are very high...that is why it is shutting down....without getting very technical there are good reasons why they would set this unit up to work at temperatures 95 and below...
try to get the room temperatures below 95 and then make sure you leave it run so that itmaintains rather then shutting it down and trying to reagin the cool again... this is actually more efficient if you are not away for days at a time...
So yes, that is very normal...

Yours is a new car, so AC should be working correctly. Still you can get it checked at an authorized service outlet. Is cooling sufficient in the summer months? Does AC cut off from time to time, at least when the temperature setting is kept high? If answer is negative to either of these, then get the AC checked.

Also if there is a substantial drop in pickup when AC comes on, get AC checked. According Hyundai manual says that AC should be used at least once a week to keep it functioning correctly. I hope you did that in the winter months.

If AC is working fine, then I suggest that you always keep the air under 100% recirculation (avoid fresh air mode). Secondly keep the AC setting to as high a temperature as is comfortable, and keep blower at minimum speed after the initial cooling is over.

My cooling fan does not come on when car is started.both the ac and cooling fan comes on when ac is started

The cooling fan is required to operate when the engine temperature rises above the maximum operating temperature threshold.
After the car is started, it will usually take some time for this temperature to be reached.
Ensure fan runs when fan control temperature sensor switch demands.

Air conditioning works when car first starts up (Volvo s40) then stops cooling after a while (usually when I am stopped in traffic) -- then if I turn it off and back on after a few minutes it works again....

It sounds like your cooling fans are not working.Need to check the cooling fan fuses, and the cooling fan relays. There is also a high side switch mounted somewhere on the high side of the ac system that cuts the fans on,or kicks them up on high speed when the ac system gets to high on the high side of the system. This switch may also cut the compressor off.I would check the fuses and relays for these fans first, this is more likely the problem. Is the car running normal temperature? If not the fans may not be running at all.Have them checked. The fan or fans may be bad them selfs. If I can be any more help, let me know.>>roniecon@gmail.com
