My Walkman will not power up or charge.

I cannot turn on my Walkman and it will not charge when i connect it to my PC. Yesterday morning, I left it charging on my PC and had to step out unexpectedly, returning in the evening. When I disconnected it and tried to play it, it wouldn't respond. Could the prolonged charging be the cause?? Please help!

I have the same problem. When i put it onto charge, it says it is charging i.e the charging logo appears on the mp3. But even after a good 10 minutes, it says it hasn't been charged. Very annoying! Can anyone please help me? I love this MP3, but i might have to either buy the same one again, or even change to Samsung!

my sony mp3 player will not charge. I plug it in to the computer and it looks as though it begins to charge, but after about 10 minutes, it says low battery and cannot charge

I would plug my Walkman into my computer to charge, and it would say it was fully charged, but when I'd take it out, the battery indicator said the battery was still low. Now the battery's dead, it won't charge, and I can't listen to anything.

I just solved a similar problem with my Walkman. When I'd plug it into my computer, it wouldn't charge. I read in the troubleshooting section of the manual that it could be a problem with the computer or its USB connection. I connected my mp3 player to a different computer and it charged fine. If it's not responding at all, you may want to try the reset button (if your model has it).
Hope that helps!

It won't turn on at all. It won't even charge. It's only 4 months old. Wasn't dropped or exposed to water or elements. Was working fine yesterday morning, then about 4:30, it was dead. ...

How long did you let it charge, when the device is completely drained of power it may not turn on at first when you connect it. Let it charge for a little while and come back to see if it fixes it. Failing that, your probably going to have to contact apple for warranty help.

My just purchased yesterday will not turn on this morning. should I return it , I have tired the power button x 10 sec. and doing the finger at the lower right screen still nothing .

Try charging it first. It takes 4 hours to charge fully if connected to a car charger or a mains charger. It takes 8 hours connected to a computer with the USB cable. If it's charged and still will not turn on bring it back and get it replaced.

My laptop (HP pavillion dv6700 series) shut off yesterday and now won't turn on. Nothing comes on when you hit the power button, even when connected to the wall. It worked fine yesterday morning, left it...

Yes it may very well be. Your battery may be running out. Try this: drain your battery completely than take it out of your laptop. Now power on your unit and let your computer recognize that the battery is missing. Turn off your unit and put in your battery and power up. Let the battery charge go to your battery cofig and check on the status. When it is fully charged you should get from 8 to 16 hours of constant battery time. When you jump back and forth from battery plug in your power cord and back and forth you actually wear your battery out faster. Sometime the life of the battery is cut in half. I disable my battery from my computer while it is still attached so you don't have to take it out and just use it when I need it. This will keep more refreshed and will last a lot longer.

Hope this helps, let me know if I can help you with anything else. It would be very kind of you if this does work for you to please rate me or leave a short note. I would really appreciate it. Thank you for your time.

My walkman will not charge. I left it on charge

Hi joanna,
It is probably not turning on due to extremely low battery. Have you been using it for quite a few years? Then there may be a problem with the battery. But before that, please try connecting the player to another USB port on your computer, or removing any USB extensions except what SONY provided, or upgrading your USB driver. If nothing works, I'm afraid you'll have to refer it to a service center.

Sony Walkman SUDDENLY won't connect to my computer

What you can try doing is to uninstall the driver that the computer has installed for it. To do this, right click on My Computer/Computer (depending on your OS it has different names) click properties, and then manage. Once that opens, on the left menu, select Device Manager. From there, plug in your MP3 player, double click to get to its properties, and then uninstall it. restart your computer, and hopefully that should fix it so you can get into it and format it. If you have any problems, repost and i can try helping you more. Sean Huffstickler

Battery on Sony Walkman NWZ-E436F

ok, just tried something with maybe a solution....

I was connected via an usb hub to my laptop, then it said battery is full, it apparently didn't charge.

When i connect my usb cable directly to my laptop it started to charge again!!.

My usb hub is not connected to a adapter so all power comes from the USB port, this may be not strong enough to charge your walkman.

Try this (so directly connect to your desk / laptop) it may work!
