SOURCE: power amp wont power up

Check the fuses-should be a pair of 30 amps on the side. use a paper clip and jump power from the power+ to the remote+ and see if that lights it up-if it does than your remote lead isnt giving it juice-

SOURCE: Hooked up the amp, lights up, fans kick on and run

could be bad rca cables or no output from the radio rca outputs. the sub control may be turned off on the radio (ive seen that alot at my work). if all that is fine, the amplifier may be bad. the rca cables may be plugged into the "out" section of the amp. gotta look at all the small obvious things first. good luck.

SOURCE: amp blows fuses

fuses blow to save the amp. Are your speakers too big for the amp? If this amp is rated RMS @ 16olms it will only power around 600 to 800 @ 8olm and less as you drop down. better to have too much amp then too little so if you are trying to push 1000 watts per speaker @ 8 olms you are way under powered. Also check to make sure your wires are correct inside your speaker cables

check the main fuse in the engine bay fuse box its a big one 80 amp this will have blown. doing this can also blow the ecu. but you may be lucky. horn going off is the alarm so this may have a problem to so would check this out as well.

I have an Dual brand 300 watt amplifier that I just bought and I hooked everything up right (battery---power, ground----sanded metal, bypassed remote with toggle switch remote-----+terminal on switch...

Is your toggle hooked to ground? Hook your toggle switch to the battery and then the other end of that toggle the remote input on the amp.

Amp wont turn on,, do i need to do something else

make sure that you have the fuse in for the 12 pos if you do then the only other way to check it to make sure the amp works is put a jumper wire from the positive to the remote on the amp and it should come on if it does the you need to find a fuse in the fuse block and hook it up to it so that the fuse turns it on with the key just make sure you use a multimeter and make sure the fuse turns on and off with the key

Wondering why im blowing fuses

The most common reason for an amp (in good working order) to blow fuses is a speaker load that's impedance is too low. You may need to rewire your speakers.

Amp hook up

To do it safely, you need to fully understand everything about the system. It would take too much to explain everything here. If you're really interested in doing this properly, read through the following site. Read the 'Fuses' page twice. It will help prevent an electrical fire.

Amp wont work jxp340

hi if you got a voltmeter TEST IT ALL ON A LOW LEVEL OF VOLUME!! check the outlets of the amp if there is a signal at all... no? - the amp isnt hooked properly! yes? - check if the volt level on the outlets is higher then the level on the inlets of the amp (the amp is amplifying) no? - the amp isnt hooked properly! or its bad... yes? - connect a speaker to see if its working wont put out a lousy spark? check your system, the problem if probably there... check all the connections, fuses, wires begin from battery and go FWD antill the next device isnt working good luck
