IT WILL NOT COME ON, THE BUTTON TO TURN ON FLASHES, BUT WHEN YOU PUSH IT DIRECTLY FROM THE TV OR USING THE REMOTE, IT FLASHES AND THEN TURNS IT SELF OFF AND COME BACK ON FLASHING....THERE FOR A FEW TIMES IT WOULD COME BACK ON, BUT NOW ALL IT WANTS TO DO IS FLASH....EVEN IF I TURN IT OFF IT WILL COME BACK ON. THE RED BUTTON THAT IS..THE TV SCREEN ITSELF WILL NOT COME ON..I HAVE TURN IT COMPLETLEY OFF AND TURN BACK ON, JUST THE BUTTON TURN RED AND FLASHES, BUT THE TV SCREEN WILL NOT COME ON, AND BACK OFF IT GOES AGAIN...BUT LIGHT MAY COME BACK ON..

-   It is a Magnavox model 60P8241, my mom jsut bought it (used) today. We plugged it in, it stayed on for 20 mins, shut off by itself, we turned it back on and it stayed on for about 10-15 mins, we turned it on and it stayed on about 5 mins then it stayef on aoubt 10 seconds and now it will not come on at all, but the power indicator light on the tv does light up but goes off within 2 seconds. We don't have the money to pay for a service man to fix it. I know it worked before she bought it, we got it from my brother and he watched dvds on it, but that is all he ever used it for. Is it true we should not play video games on this tv?-   BirdzWord

Your TV's power regulator may have a problem. But first check if your voltage is sufficient on the wall socket. Try using other electronic appliances there.
