You need to be more descriptive... what kind of MP3 player is it? The Ver is the Firmware Revision of the MP3 player.

I am installing a vantect 6-port sata II 150 pci host card w/raid model ugt-st310r. i am installing 3 new western digital 500gb hd. i configure the raid and go to install the OS and i get a blue screen...

make sure you ram modules are securely seated if you are getting the blue screen of death you might not have enough ram installed (being recognised by your computer) to cope with the ammount of programs installed on your hard drive also
test the leads from motherboard to hard drive make sure they are securely seated
want to know what the problem is
restart your computer repeatedly tapping the f8 key to enter safe mode while the screen is black once in safe mode where the only things working will be your keyboard and mouse allowing you to attempt to repair your computer

you could select the option start at last known configuration that worked this will tell you if and what file has been corrupted or missing then you will know if its a hardware issue then select restart if the problem still persists f8 back into safe mode you might need to select your operating system to load into safe mode

click start control panel administration tools computer management in the left panel events + to expand then system you will see all errors in right panel right click select properties this will tell you what has occurred and the time it occurred

you might use the system restore to restore your system to an earlier time click start all programs accessories system tools you should see your system restore option if it is a hardware issue the system restore might not work
if you need more help with this or if I have misunderstood the problem post a reply
hope this helps you

let me be very of the worst development of the PC system has been this USB connection..... specially for data storage devices....(pen drive, mp3 player, zip drive, Ext HD drive etc) cant guess when & why they fail all of a sudden.....

the USB is quite OK when it comes to printer, camera, mobile phone, ext dvd/DC drive etc.....

for data storage...I as a 25+ yr IT / PC professional still use the age old CD / DVD disks....they dont fail too often....

the only option for now is to try the flashdrive on to another 2nd PC....and a 3rd one if required....

if the drive wont work on any of the PCs then i am afraid you need to contact a PC system engineer and try and get that fixed....

hope this helps

Will not turn on

Test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect/ boot up a computer hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they are probably old and faulty a computer needs its connections to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error

If you want both OS you need to do a partition on the HD to proceed.IThat what i can figure from your quest. But if you just want XP just do a clean installation of it.

Perform a clean install of Windows XPA clean installation consists of removing all data from your hard disk by repartitioning and reformatting your hard disk and reinstalling the operating system and programs to an empty (clean) hard disk. For more information about important things to consider before you partition and format you hard disk and how to partition and format your hard disk by using the Windows XP Setup program, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:313348  ( ) How to partition and format a hard disk by using Windows XP Setup programTo perform a clean installation of Windows XP, follow these steps:
  1. Back up all important information before you perform a clean installation of Windows XP. Save the backup to an external location, such as a CD or external hard disk.
  2. Start your computer from the Windows XP CD. To do this, insert the Windows XP CD into your CD drive or DVD drive, and then restart your computer.

Note To boot from your Windows XP CD, the BIOS settings on your computer must be configured to do this.
  3. When you see the "Press any key to boot from CD" message, press any key to start the computer from the Windows XP CD.
  4. At the Welcome to Setup screen, press ENTER to start Windows XP Setup.
  5. Read the Microsoft Software License Terms, and then press F8.
  6. Follow the instructions on the screen to select and format a partition where you want to install Windows XP.
  7. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the Windows XP Setup.
If you have successfully installed Windows XP, you are finished. If these steps did not help you install Windows XP, go to the "Next Steps" section.

XWT-RC061 SATA card used for DVD rewriter wants to boot computer.

from the manual
Note: there are 2 sata drive ports and 1 esata port named P1 to P3. (P1 and P2 are internal) Chaning the jumper setting allows you to select between external and internal ports to use.
Both underside --> P1 and P@ are working
Both topside --> P2 and P3 are working

hope that helps...

Weird error message on boot. BIOS error?

This is a strange one. Does the BIOS on your motherboard detect your hard drives at all? I'd try the lowest level first. If so, then try to boot from your XP CD ROM (hopefully this should work). Try to go into recovery console to see if your hard drive can even be mounted by the system. I'd check there.

If you still have issues, try to reflash your mobo BIOS to the most current one. Could be a flaky BIOS issue.

Cant use sd card

Test the SD card in another device, or even a PC to verify that it is working or even formatted. Also what size is the SD card/. Does your MP3 player support this size. Give us more info.
