I chipped my motherboard and obviously it won't work now.

I'm the kinda guy that would just solder a jumper wire across.

(Your indication was a 5mm strip of circuit trace, that was gone, right?)

I wouldn't use these ports in the I/O area anyway.
Mouse uses a USB port.
Keyboard uses a USB port.

Printer/Scanner/ All-in-one uses a USB port
Monitor is connected to a graphics card in the PCI-Express x16 expansion slot.
Don't need that blue VGA port.

Show me how to replace power jack

LOL, you've go to take the laptop apart because in most cases the DC Power Jack is soldered onto the motherboard. That means once you get the motherboard out of the laptop be prepared to spend an hour or two trying to desolder and remove the one that is bad. This is like being a surgeon. You have to be very careful or you will damage the motherboard. Once you've got it off, then you have to solder the new jack onto the motherboard and put the thing back together.

Headphone jack will not send audio through any cable. There must be something wrong with the motherboard chip.

Did you check the solder connection on the jack where it connects to the motherboard? That's a high stress point and could simply be a broken contact that needs to be resoldered. Should be 3 or 4 pins likely.

Computer will not power on and I changed the Power circuit board and the switch to turn the laptop on, the little 2 buttons. The battery and power supply is good, should I change the motherboard or what?

1. this is a possible defective coaxial connector on the motherboard that need to either be sweated ( re soldered) replaced.
2. the mother board will have to be removed to check the solder joints at the connector point.
3. if you have changed the switch module and you have problems then it may be at the switch module contacts. Make sure you have the switch module correctly seated.

I have toshiba Tecra 9000 laptop, its USB ports and Keyboard EXTERNAL port is not working. please help me

It's a common problem with the Tecra 9000's - either one or both USB ports and sometimes the external KB port along with it. The 2 USB's and external KB port (and the TV out port next to it) are all located on the same daughterboard that plugs into the motherboard, and in your case, more than likely the connector on the motherboard is bad (gotten loose). There's no easy fix for this unless you've got an ultra-fine soldering tip, good soldering skills....

How about a workaround? A PC card (PCMCIA card) that gives you 2 or 4 high speed USB 2.0 ports - it'll stick out a little on the right hand side, but in return you'll have fast USB ports, and you can use a USB keyboard with the thing.

Laptop won't power on, suspect bad power port, is it better to replace just the power port or the whole motherboard? How hard is it to replace the whole motherboard?

Depends on the machine. In some case, the dc jack is easy to replace. IN other cases, you need to do soldering.

It takes about an hour to open an average laptop for the first time. When you get down the motherboard and jack. If the jack has power lines coming from it, you should be able to replace the jack for about $30.

If it is directly on the motherboard, you will need to solder. I would suggest a pro to do the soldering. That will cost you about $100 to $150.

You don't need to bother with the motherboard. It will cost more than an new computer.

Usb ports loose and now wont work

Even taking a laptop apart (to board level) is tough, but you need to order the USB socket on ebay and solder the new one in carefully. Are you a qualified miniature soldering expert?

Power port

No, you don't need a new motherboard.

Unless you're comfortable with taking the laptop apart down to the motherboard, and soldering in a new power jack, take it to a repair shop.

Usb ports on a toshiba satellite pro m15-S405

You can if you have good soldering skills. The welds are located on the opposite side of the motherboard. Just go to or ebay to find a raw module to replace it. Otherwise you must replace the motherboard. Remember, heat the work not the solder, and use low watt if lots of smaller circuits are closeby.
