Do i need special drivers for xp 64 bit? Broadxent V.92 56K PCI...

Windows XP 64 needs entirely different drivers than Win XP 32, and Windows Vista/7 64bit/32bit.

If you can not find specialized drivers, there is nothing you can do to make it work.

The download page for your modem driver is here.

What is not clear form your description is which modem type you are using. There are two different models: HSF and HCF.
(HSF would be my first guess.)

Go to the download site and first download the "List Modem Application for PC", a 16KB zip file. This program will give you detailed information about your modem and tell you which driver you need.

...you can also download all XP drivers and try one after the other and see which one works for you. After this step you should do a Windows Update and see in the Hardware section to find any updates for your modem driver.

Modem Driver

To download the most appropriate modem driver for your Windows XP computer, a few steps is indispensible to finish the whole process.

Step 1
Look at the modem. Write down the make and model. If you have a dial-up modem in your computer, take the panel on the tower off. Shine the flashlight on the device. On the circuit board, the manufacturer and/or model number is present.

Step 2
Locate an Internet connection. To download Windows XP modem drivers, go to the library or someone's home where the Internet is able to connect. If you have another working modem in your house, you can download them directly to your computer.

Step 3
Go to the manufacturer's official website or a Windows XP modem driver's web page. Windows XP Drivers, Drivers Kit and Driver Support Registry have modem drivers for the Windows XP operating system.

Step 4
Click on the modem device. Select the manufacturer of the modem. Some of the driver sites are XP only, while others are all drivers. You will have the chance to choose your operating system before downloading. Click on the "Download" tab. Wait approximately 10 minutes, depending on the speed of the PC and Internet connection.

Step 5
Burn it to a disk. If you are at another location, you need to burn to CD/DVD for transportation.
