You may have to re-format the mp3 player if it does not have a reset button. This unfortunately will erase everything on it. A suggestion would be to move all your files to your computer hard drive and then after reformatting move them back. To reformat connect the mp3 player to the hard drive. Click the right button on the mouse and select format then start.

If the phone is frozen and you just want to "pull the battery" hold the power button for at least 10 seconds and the phone will power off(simulates a battery pull in devices with non removable batteries)

If you would like to do a factory restore(hard reset)
Ensure the device is powered off.
Press and hold the Volume Down button then press and release the Power button.
Note When the screen with the three androids appears, release the Volume down button.
Press the Volume Down button to select Factory Reset then press the Power button.
Note Allow several minutes for the reboot process to complete.

Lg p500 screen frozen

Have you tried removing the Cell battery and re-inserting it again?
Then try performing a hard reset of your device. This restores factory/original settings on your phone BUT deletes all user data and third party applications. This process also deletes system errors on your device.

  • Press and hold Power + Home + Down Volume key for five seconds.
  • The device will turn on and perform the reset.
Hope it helps.Thanks!

The firmware has corrupted.

Run the Philips Device Manager, installed from the driver CD.

Connect the PSS110 to the mains and PC, when the Philips Device Manager registers that the device is connected click on the Restore option, and follow the on-screen prompts.

This will format the device and replace the corrupted firmware.

Device manager wont detect my gogear HDD1630/17 even though i recently updated the software and driver, also my device is frozen on "Please connect player to pc". I can't even get it back to the menu...

I was experiencing this similar problem, and from my research so were alot of other people, what finally worked for me was this:

  • Update all the software on your computer via Phillips site
  • Open the Philips Device Manager
  • With the device connected and the 'connected to pc' screen showing on the GoGear, do a 'soft reset' by holding the Power Off + Volume Up buttons for a few seconds
  • As soon as the device restarts itself, hold the Volume Down button, the computer should now recognize the GoGear
  • Follow the onscreen directions to Repair the device
  • Thank the intarwebs.

Frozen screen

The fault could be down to firmware or a faulty hard disk.

First of all, install and run the Philips Device Manager from the product CD.

Connect the player to the power supply and PC.

If the player is recognised by the PC, select the repair/restore option in Philips Device Manager, and follow the on-screen prompts.
This will format the player and re-load the firmware. NOTE: THIS WILL DELETE ALL TRACKS ON THE PLAYER.

If this doesn't help, or the player is not recognise, then the following might work:

Download the factory software from the following link:

Unzip the file to a new folder on your desktop, and open the folder to show the installation files and folders.

Connect the HDD6330 to the power supply and the PC. Before the HDD6330 registers on the PC, press and hold [VOL+] & [POWER ON] to reset the player.
As soon as the player resets, press and hold [VOL-], until PC recognises the player as a removable drive.
Player will show the connection icon on screen but without the bar and battery indicator at the top of the screen. You may need to try this several times to get it right.

When the player shows as "GOGEAR" or "MDJUKEBOX", right click on the drive from My Computer and click format. Click on "Quick Format" and complete the process.
If the player does not allow you to access or format the hard disk, then the disk is probably faulty.

Copy ALL of the files from the new folder exactly as they are (not including "New Folder", into the HDD6330.
When the copy process has completed, safely remove the HDD6330 from the PC, but leave connected to the power.

The player will restart and eventually show "Burn Success"

Press and hold [VOL+] & [POWER ON] to reset the player. The player will restart as normal, and hopefully go into the main menu.

If this still doesn't work, but the process worked ok and the player still froze on "Loading" then the PCB is probably the cause.

You can obtain a replcement from
They are not listed on the site, but they definitely have them available. Unfortunately, they don't have the PCBs for the HDD6330.
Go to the about us page and contact them by phone or e-mail.
