As far as I know no hub can be set up, during university I heard about administrable hubs, but your model is not one of those weird species. That means you can not set an ip address on it.

Subnet mask

subnet mask is usually, or something like that. If you not know what it is, no use trying to set it up. Most devices do set this up after they know what the ip address is. Look what the router or your hub makes for other devices. The gateway (address) is the ip address your provider gave you to connect to.

IP Address:
Subnet mask:
Default gateway:

Preffered DNS server:

***note that is the IP Address that your ISP gives to you, so on the other computer (see below)

<When we hook up the dsl and 2 pcs to the hub we keep getting the conflict message. ...another computer on this network has the same ip address

One of the PCs might have a static IP address. Go into the TCP/IP properties for both PCs and make sure they are set to dynamically obtain IP addresses. Then reboot the PCs and the hub, and you should be okay.

Are there any other devices on your network? They might be the ones with the conflicting IP addresses. Any iPods, TVs, or Wii's?

Konica Minolta 250bizhub is this compatible with bt home hub 2.0 - the ip address previously set before home hub is not being allowed. is it quicker to change ip address or to change hub settings.

if you changed the hub then you have to re assign the ip. to re assign the ip, go to administrattor mode, then in this mode, go to admin 2, in admin 2, go to basic settings, then in basic settings, change the ip of the machine. consult from user manual to know how to get in "Adminstrator Mode"

I have a netgear ds116 hub and i want to set up a linksys router

Here's what you can do. Don't connect the Linksys router yet to the hub. Connect 1 computer directly to the Linksys router. Access the router's setup page of the Linksys router thru

It will prompt you for username and password. No username and password is admin.

Look for Local IP Address or LAN IP Address. Change the LAN or Local IP Address of the Linksys router to then click on Save Settings at the bottom. Right after saving the settings, unplug the power of the Linksys router, connect it to the hub and it should be good to go.
