Question about Audio Players & Recorders
Gents, I have a Sony digital audio/video control center. Model # STR-K840P. I cannot get the surround sound to work. I have tried everything as far as trying to program the unit to make the surround sound work. But still nothing works. I am sure it is just the correct sequence of button pushing. Do you have an instruction booklet for this model. Or any words of encouragement. The unit used to work, surround sound and all. For some reason it just stopped producing surround sound. thanks Bob Stout

Connect the PS3 to your TV with the hdmi cable and to the surround sound system with a digital optical cable, then set your PS3 to output sound through the optical port (through the sound options menu) and you're good to go!

I just finished setting up my system last night and was facing similar problems with sound/video from my PS3. The only option I could get working was to have the HDMI cable connected from the PS3 to the TV and then connect the Optical cable to the receiver for sound. I was under the impression that HDMI handles sound and video but for whatever reason the PS3 does not agree.
I have DTS sound and fantastic picture now through my PS3, hope this helps.

What is the device code for the Sony STR K750P? I'm tying to set up a universal remote control and need the 4 digit code.

SOURCE: I have a Digital Audio/Video
Check the back and front of your system. The AUX input may be either:
- two red and yellow holes (known as phono L R)
-a 'headphone' jack input hole
the cable might not have been supplied with the system. Also, the cable you need may not connect to your iPod through the large connection, it may actually connect through the headphone jack.
So, you may need either:
-a cable with a headphone jack on both ends (one for the system and one for the ipod)
-a cable with phono L R on one end (for the system) and headphone jack on the other end(for the ipood)
