Question about Texas Instruments TI-84 Plus Calculator

# Error message with binopdf function

I am teaching a stats course and using the TI 84. I am not able to use the binopdf function with values n=11,000,000/p=.0000008/x= (any value). I get an error message. Why? It works with other values. Are these numbers just too extreme in value? Thanks. Val

Yes, eleven million is rather extreme for the binomial distribution. For this large a value the binomial distribution is sufficiently indistinguishable from the normal approximation.
