Question about Hitachi UltraVision CineForm 55VG825 55" HDTV

1 Answer

My hitachi 60" will not power on.

It made a slight pop and since then it will not power on. The little blue light on the front has even stopped working, but when I look on the inside some of the boards still have LED's that are working so that tells me that it is getting power. What does this mean?

It needs the lamp. The instruction book should cover how to change this. Easy to change yourself.

Flashes of blue light are fault indications. From the number of flashes occurs at one time switch on, you can get an idea about the faulty section circuit board inside. If you wish to get details about these blinks, check this link.

I had the exact same problem as some one else! We had the tv about 14 months, was coming do
wn the stairs and heard a loud pop. Now we have no audio or video and the blue power light is blinking 4 times which is supposed to be some kind of code, however when i called hitachi, they were not able to tell me what was wrong and as was said by the other person who had the same problem, conveniant for hitachi, the manufacturers warrenty had just ran out!! I will never buy another Hitachi product again!!!There seems to be a re-occuring problem here that requires a class action law suit!

I believe the power supply is bad. Will replace soon and try.

I have a 50vs810 dlp. The blue and red lights flash in sequence when I turn it on.When they stop flashing the red light for the lamp is on. The yv has no volume and no picture. Is it just the bulb or does...

More than likely, it is the bulb. My hitachi 50v715 would come on(light up and show picture) 3 to 30 sec's with out the lamp indictor even lighting up. Put a new bulb in and works great. So I would try a new bulb. Look in your manual for the bulb number. Buy an original hitachi bulb they last a little longer.

Tune up for Hitachi 60FX32B

Remove rear cardboard cover....can you see tops of red / green /
blue tubes ? Clean lens' with soft , dry cloth......Do you smoke ?
If not , replace back. Picture should now be clearer but not
necessarily brighter.......Next, remove front speaker grill and find
the RGB focus / screen adjust block....turn RGB screen controls
SLIGHTLY clockwise to achieve more brightness....not too much
or you will have retrace lines in background of picture.......Let me know after these steps are done........T.

Tv won't stay on

Try removing the back of the set and vacuum out the inside. It should only be a few screws and may even have little arrows pointing at them. Be sure to unplug the set first.

Wont power up

I have seen that symptom many times. Most likely, the little blue capacitor next to the horizontal output transistor has shorted and popped the main B+ fuse. This is very common in those Hitachi projection sets. These parts should be replaced by a tech familiar with Hitachi projection sets.
