Question about Sony PlayStation 3 40GB System
Sounds like its struggling to find the file system on the harddrive!!
turn off the ps3 from button on front, then at the switch on the back.
turn it back on at the back.
hold down the power button on front until the console turns on and then turns back off, remove finger.
hold down power button on front again, this time it should beep...beep...beep beep!! this will bring up a recovery menu. select option to restore file system, when system restarts it should all be working again!!
hope this works for you! if not you could try removing the hard drive and then putting it back.
note: if you get any errors saying hdd maybe corrupt, could be the harddrive thats broken and you may need to replace it..

best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
