Question about Panasonic PT-50LC13 50" Rear Projection HDTV
I have a PT50LC13 HDTV and it quit working today. The little red light on the front where it says lamp started flashing red and every time I tried to turn on my TV it made a noise. I just wanted to make sure that it's actually the lamp that I need to replace before I spend on it and if so how to replace it.
From the info you gave, it does sound like the lamp is bad. The sound you hear is the ballast trying to ignite what used to be a lamp. The lamp is assessable throught a 6x6 cover usually in the rear of the set held on by usually two screws. After the cover is off ( with a flashlight ) locate the screws(2) that hold the lamp housing in, remove those and it should slide out. Make sure you unplug the set first and remember to reset the lamp timer witch is located in your owners booklet after your done with the set on.
