My "FN' key does not work.

my guess would be that the function and f10 key haven't been mapped to eject the cd/dvd drawer. Go into settings and check under keyboard and maybe under keyboard shortcuts.

In regards to the cds playing and not dvds, this could be 1 of two things.

1. The firmware isn't working properly. Go onto the dell website and download any drivers for your computer.

or

2. The lens for the dvd is broken. This is more likely. Since the cd's and dvd's are read by different lenses they generally fail one at a time.

This will require you to bring your laptop in for servicing.
