On your Sansa, go to "Settings," then "System Settings," then USB Mode, change the mode to MSC, then try it. If that doesn't work try the other modes just in case.
Hope this helps!

Usb ports!

I would suggest either contacting your manufacture for a diagnostic disk. It is possible the ports are failing. If all tests do come back ok and detects no problems with the ports, I would then recommend uninstalling any programs that would use the ports for example KVM switch software. If that does not work (and again the diag came back ok) I would reinstall your windows.

Computer won't read the Sana!!HELP

Have you tried downloading the latest driver from the Sansa website and installing those? When you download them, remember where you put them and then when you try to repair the driver under Device Manager.

If you don't have a disk that's where you should be able to get them. If the site doesn't have the driver then doing a Google search should find it somewhere.

You might also try to uninstall the Sansa under Device Manager and then plug it back in to see if it will reinstall the USB drivers for it. If it prompts you for a driver you'll have the one you downloaded.

My sansa wont be read by the computer

What i would recommend you to do is to uninstall the device and reinstall it back...to uninstall it...assuming that you are running windows xp...click on start, right click on my computer and go to properties..you should have your system properties open then click under hardware then device manager...look for the sansa device..it usually located under portable device..if its not showing there i would recommend you to look for under disk drives and see if its there..right click on the device and click on uninstall...after you unintall it unplug your device from the computer....Then follow this link below to download the porting kit...http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=A2E73160-E862-4F19-BB26-C0CAFE798955&displaylang=en .Then check the mode of yuor device to make sure it sunder MTP not msc...To check the mode go under menu, settings and choose usb mode...After you check the mode open up your windows media player click on tools, options and click under privacy...clear the history and caches...after you finish you can plug the device on the back of the computer not the front then windows should recongnize it and it should work properly..if that doesnt solve the problems upgrade your windows media player to 11 even though you have done that already..and try to reconnect your device..make sure you have it connected on the back USB>>>

And if that doesnt work try to obtain the driver for your sandisk device go to http://www.sandisk.com/DriverDownload/index.asp and find the driver for your device..and then connecct the device on the back of your computer...it should work properly..if you are still having any problems..let me know..i would be more than happy to assist you..

Sansa e280 will only charge when connected to my computer

I'v had problems with my Sansa 280r (I think)... everything was working fine for about two years and then I recently tried adding a new playlist and everything went funny.. WMP would only see it in MCS mode and not in MTP which is the wrong way around and when I sync everything appeared to work fine until I disconnected it and there was nothing on the player. So I hooked it back up, tried sysc again but it said that all the songs were already onn the device yet it was still empty when I unhooked it.

I tried everything from uninstalling it in Device Manager to reformatting it but nothing worked... Looked for drivers on San Disk but there are none.

Anyway, I had actually given up and was looking at new MP3's on the San Disk site and I noticed a link to download WMP 11... I kinda thought I had that version already but rather than even checking, I hit the download button... My sansa has been 100% ever since... I reckon I must have lost or damaged some files or components and it was affecting how WMP was interacting with the SANSA.

If your having any problems with your Sansa, these are the steps I would try.

1) Put the device iin MCS mode (Settings/USB Mode/MCS)
2) Hook it up to your computer and double click 'My Computer'
3) The player should show up here as a drive... Right click and select 'Format' (Personally I used the long format... not sure why but it doesnt take long)
4) Disconnect the player
5) Download WMP11 and restart your PC
6) Change your USB mode on the player to MTP
7) Open WMP and connect the MP3... You should see it straight away as a new device and it will ask you to name it (Delete any old references in WMP that you used to use as this is a new "partnership" your setting up... Just right click the old name and select 'End Sync Partnership)

Hope this helps... If not you someone else somewhere... Pain teaches well !!!!!

Plugging in and out Sansa

Well I'd suggest that you uninstall it from your computer then reinstall it. This is a common solution to most problems similar to this.

Sansa c150 Problem

It sounds like you may have some other removeable storage in your computer...try to rename all removeavble disk to something else...they would be listed under my computer...then you want to clear the history and caches under windows media player...by clicking on tools, options....go under privacy..clear the history and caches..hit ok..and plug your device to a 2.0 usb ports...that should solve the problems you are having..if that doesnt work uninstall your device from the device manager and reinstall it back again...

Creative PC-CAM software

you might have a malfunctioning camera try it on a friends computer with the software if it dosent work it probably wont work you can take it to a repair shop, if it does work your computer probably has a virus or corrupt system files all you need to do then is scan for viruses and then insert a system repair disk for your current operating system or put your operating system disk in and repaair your system.
