may have damaged the motherboard on impact without breaking anything off. best bet would be to take the laptop apart and visually check for that kind of damage. should be taken to a repair shop, not done at home
hi, i have worked on these laptops before, this particular power jack is not directly connected to the mainboard. but by a cable so will not be as difficult. the laptop will have have to be opened up. But i can help no probs.
In order to up date your drivers, go to the avertech web site and go to driver downloads you will need to put in the model # of your computer in order to get the proper driver downloads. hope this was helpful.
Sometimes laptops can get very hot in operation there are after market laptop Coolers that the laptop fits into/onto and has extra Fans to Cool the unit. Perhaps that would help...
As long as the unit isn't getting so hot that it is faulting then it is most probably OK.. But my laptop gives me a "Warm Knee" when I use it for long periods.. Using the laptop on a hard surface helps too the air has to be able to flow to be cooled affectively.
