Question about Behringer Audio Players & Recorders

Behringer SL3242 Mixer has a noise problem.

Behringer SL 3242 PRO, about three years old and installed in a church. Mixer has a noise problem that comes from the channels. Each channel turned on increases the noise level. Some more then others. Turning on the phantom power makes a large increase in noise. This noise is present with nothing attached to the mixer and can be heard in the headphones even with the main output muted. The noise level has been increasing for the last few months. I wish I could find a service manual.

Thanks for the reply. You are certinly right about ground loops being a common noise problem. Yes, as I had noted, the noise is present in the earphones with all other equipment disconnected. I have pretty well determined that it is an internal power supply problem. I would like to find a service manual with the schmatic diagrams or just the schmatics. It makes it much easier to do a repair. Behringer doesn't sell them or seem to have a parts department at all. They say to take it to one of their service centers. I worked in and managed electronic service centers for many years and would sooner do the repair myself. Any ideas on the schmatics?

It sounds like you have ground loops. This is noise generated by having interconnected equipment grounded at different physical locations. Especially a problem if you have a cable from your cable TV provider connected into your equipment.
Remove EVERY connection into and out of the mixer. Plug in headphones. Noise? If so, mixer needs repair. If not, re-connect equipment 1 piece at a time and assess for noise. If it slowly increases as you add connections you will need expert on-site help to fix it. If it is sudden, what was just connected is the source and steps need to be taken to lift the ground on the connection to that equipment.

I don't know about how to get schematics for their equipment, although you could try buying a copy from a service center. If it is a linear power supply it is easy without one. Transformer feeds bridge, filtered by electrolytics and perhaps regulated, probably with 78 and/or 79 series regulators. A faulty cap or shorted diode in the bridge would cause the problem, as you know.
I wouldn't think that a problem with a switching supply would cause a 60 cycle hum.
I saw another post on fixya that indicated that the effects dsp is a common source of problems in Behringer mixers (haven't seen it myself) in which case you might hit a wall because I'm sure that involves at least 120 surface mount pins if not a BGA and possibly even proprietary programming.
I suspect that the real cost of buying an inexpensive mixer is exactly what you are dealing with.
    Good luck.

How to connect behringer xenyx 1204usb mixer to a numark mixtrack pro II dj controller?

you have to tell your dj or studio program which device to use as output, but the dj controller doesn't have an audiocard so now i first have to search myself since my mixers have built in serato and another that annoying native i. No i'm just doing difficult while a numarkx5 stands in front of me and the main outputs go to your mixer and your usb is just for recording , but plug the mixer out in the mixer , main out in your monitors and calibrate the sound, but your studie or dj gear wants to know which channel to use and there fore you need to read the manual of your mixer and behringer. It's easy, but not from here.

Help behringer xenyx 1002fx !!

If you registered your mixer there will be a three year warranty so get it back to your local Behringer service depot. If not check the output from the PSU, if that's OK then I'm afraid it is very unlikey to be economical to repair. Sell it as spares and repairs on eBay.

Behringer mixer Eurorack UB802 is losing partial stereo signal in one channel. When I record (audacity software) I can hear both channels but displays one channel. Is it my computer's audio jack t

Sounds like the output cable from the 802 is not correctly pinned to your input on the computer. Fred is on the right track but you may need to take it a bit further.
It may also be helpful to use a Pro USB audio interface such as the Digigram UAX220v2 (line level version).
If you wish to use the computer's on board sound card consider an IHF/Pro interface that converts balanced audio to unbalanced , and the proper cables. Two 3-wire balanced 1/4-inch from the 802 to the left and right inputs of the interface (XLR Male), then RCA (Red and White) to a 1/8-inch TRS Plug cable onto the the computers audio input.
Henry Engineering's Matchbox HD comes to mind.
Good Luck.

Check the 5 volts to the FX unit, If the voltage is low, the FX processor will keep reseting generating clicks, In a different product, the 5 volt filter cap was degraded and voltage dipped down to 4.5 volts causing resets.

It sounds like one of the output devices is going bad, ie., output transistor, capacitor, resistor or maybe just a bad connection on one of the above menitoned items. One other problem which causes this would be the main or sub volume slider or pot is wearing out and needs to be replaced. It would definately be worth your while to have a technician trace down and fix the problem on this board. Hope this helps.

I have a behringer xenyx 1204usb mixer with a mxl 990 mic and i have problems with static. thats all i have hooked to the mixer so i dont think its a conflict. i have tried recording in audition, pro...

Yep ! First thing is to eliminate any processing resource "hogs" that **** respources and can cause buffer overruns. Eliminate Antivirus, antispyware, and network communication and wireless network programs running in the background while recording.
Next make sure that ALL equipment is powered from the same receptacle or power source. In your case that should be the mixer and the PC.
Next remember that the condenser mic picks up everything... I have 5 of those mics and seemingly noise free environments turn out to have little things that generate fast rising pulses that you don't notice till they are recorded.
Lastly, the air here is very dry and plain old static electricity is rampart... Lady shuffling her feet was sending pulses through the mic cable at our church. They are NOT audible until they get into the sound system as clicks.
I have found that trying to record directely to a USB stick often has ooverruns and clicks... also burning a CD from stick to the CD results in noise due to buffer underuns. Burn from Hard drive to CD and make sure all the other hog programs are shut off.

Im thinking about buying a djx750 and have rokit 5 monitors. would this work? what is the best way to connect them, to have good sound? it is just for a home dj setup, all on one desk, two cd decks,...

Here is alink to the manual:http://www.behringer.com/EN/downloads/pdf/DJX750_P0956_M_EN.pdf You should have no problems hooking them up (RCA to RCA). I've been using a Behringer XenyX1222FX board in my recording system for about 4 years now and have been quite satisfied with it's reliability. Try to find a dealer who will demo the mixer for you.

LEVEL POT ON A BEHRINGER EURORACK MX 602A-BAD

It appears that both these use a 50K pot in the identical circuit and it is UNLIKELY they re-engineered very much so it is likely they use the same pot.

Behringer parts service should be able to tell you.
