Question about Fusion FEW12PK Car Subwoofer
I hooked up my sound system in my car and everything was working great. the next day i went to crank it and the battery was dead. I'm pretty sure that the amp sucked the battery dead. its hooked up to the system control, and when i checked it the previous night, the amp turned off when i cut the car off. any suggestions on wat the problem is?
I am not sure how you have it hooked up, but the amp should be connected with heavy gauge wire to a relay that goes straight to the battery for the best current flow. The coil of the relay can be connected to the power output wire of the stereo (usually blue) or to a switched circuit. When the ignition is switched on or the stereo is turned on (depending on which you have it connected to) the power to the relay coil will connect the power from the battery to the amp. When you turn off the stereo or ignition, the power to the relay coil goes off and the spring breaks the circuit at the contactor. You can buy a relay at any auto parts place. Make sure you ground the amp near where the stereo is grounded or you will get a whine in the stereo from a "ground loop". Please don't forget to rate this solution.
