Hi I have Dell inspiron 6000 with 1GB ram(512 + 512).I bought a compatable 1GB (Kingston) one ram and tried to replace one 512 MB ram. But my laptop stop working. It automatically switch off after few seconds.I tried to put old RAM back but my laptop is still not working. Please suggest some fix for this problem. Sanjay
There should be a reset button on bottom of laptop....if not...remove battery, power supply plug and remove the mbottom panels....under one of them is a battery the size of one of two....either 6mm in diametre or one of 22mm in diametre...remove it and leave laptop for about 5 min....remove memory, touch the memory's golden edges briefly with your fingers to discharge charge in memeory.put everything together...should solve your problem.
