Question about Epson Stylus CX5400 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Epson stylus CX5400 Won't stop jamming!

My Epson printer/scanner simply will not let any paper feed through it without jamming. All the spinner thingies inside are working and there doesn't seem to be anything stuck in there that's causing the jam. I've double checked that the feeder paper size adjuster is correct- close but not snug. What else could be wrong??? Is this device simply a bad quality piece of equipment?

It totally worked! It took a good 20 minutes but it work. Unfortunately, now it won't print. It sounds like it's printing fine but nothing is printed on the paper when it finishes. I'm ready to throw this thing out the window... :(

If the paper isnt being pulled in the chances are that you have a foreign object in the paper path. First of all turn the printer off & disconnect all cables. Turn the printer upside down and give a good shake, with luck the blockage should fall out. If not then you need to be a bit brave, make sure the print carriage is parked fully to the right and out of the way. You will need an A4 (approx) sized piece of stiff cardboard such as the backing from an A4 note pad. Insert this into the paper feed locating it between the feed rollers on the R/H side. Then push quite firmly to overcome the spring pressure, when you feel it push through about a half inch stop and open the printer to see what is being pushed through. Push the card fully through and retrieve the foreign object (I have found everything from paperclips, curtain hooks and even a golf tee!). Push the card through fully and out of the printer. Always remove paper jams etc, in the direction of the paper feed whenever possible as pulling anything backwards can dislodge or break the sensor flags.
Hope this helps. Please take a moment to rate this solution, thanks.

Carry out about 5or 6 head cleans with a nozzle check between, you should see a gradual improvement. If you still get nothing after 5 or 6 cleans then you need a head cleaning solution such as this one:

If however you start to see an improvement after 5 or 6 cleans, wait for about 10hrs for the ink to soften and do another couple of cleans. Good luck ;-)

Paper not feeding for epson nx400

Check the following:

  • If paper doesn't feed, remove it from the sheet feeder. Reload it against the right side, behind the tab, then press in the tab on the edge guide and slide it against the paper. Make sure the paper is not above the arrow mark inside the edge guide.

  • If multiple pages feed at once, remove the paper from the sheet feeder, fan the edges to separate the sheets, then reload it.

  • If the paper doesn't eject fully, you may have set the wrong paper size. Press the c:\users\home\appdata\local\temp\msohtmlclip1\01\clip_image001.gif Stop button, then open the scanner and remove the paper. Select the correct paper size when you reprint.

  • If it's wrinkled when it ejects, the paper may be damp or too thin. Load new paper.

  • Make sure you use new, smooth, high-quality paper, that is not curled, creased, old, or too thin. Make sure to load it printable side up.

  • Do not load paper with holes punched in it for insertion in a binder.

  • Make sure you load only up to the recommended number of sheets. If you're printing on both sides of the paper, try loading fewer sheets.

If the paper jams, do the following:

1. Gently pull any jammed paper out from the output tray or sheet feeder.

2. To eject the jammed paper, try turning the Epson Stylus NX400 off and then back on.

If that doesn't work and paper is stuck inside, turn off the Epson Stylus NX400. Open the scanner, remove the jammed paper and torn pieces, close the scanner, and turn the Epson Stylus NX400 back on.

Is media transparent? Epson paper sensor think that no paper. Put white stiker at top left and right of media (about 1 cm height and 2 cm width). It's for tricky sensor.

I have a epson printer stylus cx5400 that says error.

Possible hardware failure.
Please turn the printer off. Disconnect it from your computer. Check if there are any obstructions blocking the way of the printhead or the paper feed area. Make sure that the cartridge cover is closed properly. Turn the printer on.
If your unit is not under warranty anymore, please log on to epson.com to find an epson certified servicer near to your area.

if your having a different error message pls indicate the exact error that you are getting.

Epson stylus cx5400 reset???

try doing this :

Reclamping the Ink Cartridges

Once you start the ink cartridge reclamp procedure, you must complete all the steps in one session.

1. Make sure the EPSON Stylus CX5400 is turned on and not printing.

2. Press a MENU button until you see CHANGE CARTRIDGE, then press the COLOR COPY BUTTON. The ink cartridges will move to the replacement position.

3. Lift up the unit's cover, to access the ink cartridges.

4. Pinch the tabs on the front and back of the cartridge, and lift it out of the printer.

5. Lower the cartridge back into its holder, then press down on the top of the cartridge until it clicks in place.
Caution: Don't touch the green circuit board on the back of the cartridge, as you may inhibit normal operation and printing.

6. Carefully lower the scanner and press it down until it clicks into place. The EPSON Stylus CX5400 begins charging the ink delivery system.
The On light flashes and the EPSON Stylus CX5400 makes noise. Charging takes about 30 seconds. When it's finished, the On light stops flashing and stays on steady.
Caution: Never turn off the EPSON Stylus CX5400 while the On light is flashing, unless the Stylus CX5400 hasn't moved or made noise for more than 5 minutes.

if the issue still persists - you need to call the vendor - it´s a hardware issue
