Got a panasonic dp-c264 at a clearance auction/liquidation. It has a password to print. Any way around it. Also, how do i get it connected to a standard home computer. It eems to only have a ohone line...

You have to go into F-5 service mode to disable it.
While holding "function" key, press and hold "copy" key. While holding these two keys, press and hold "3" key. Press "5" then the green start key. Key in "42" then start key. Should show "KEY/DEPT counter". Press "no" to disable all codes. If you just want to disable printer codes while leaving copy codes intact, go to F5-65 to disable printer mode. After this, press "stop" key twice. While holding "function" key, press "clear" key to return to ready mode.

On the right side near the rear, there are ethernet and USB connections. You can get the drivers from Panasonic.net.

If you have a phone input on the back right near the bottom, you have a fax board installed.

My printer said...unable to clean routine maintenance, what should I do ?

This situation is complicated because it can be created by two things, the printer has a fault on the main board and that function goes disabled or cartridge is a replacement and this causes the printer to disable the function is a new cartridge and brand.

My lexmark 4850 wireless will not communicate with computer

Disable any Firewall/Antivirus you have running and try a new print.
If still an issue, go to Start - All Programs - Accessories - Right-click on Notepad and choose 'Run as Administrator' (if on Vista/W7). Try to print this notepad document. If it prints, it's Windows User Account Control that is blocking the print. This can be disabled in the Control Panel - User Accounts.

If it's wireless, you can try re-installing the printer using USB connection in order to eliminate the wireless network as the issue.
If it's still an issue, you can check your computer manufacturers website for updates for your chipset (USB drivers).

Lexmark x6575 I want to disable the wireless function

Hi,
you can take out the white box where the black antenna is behind the printer. It's the wireless network adapter of the printer. It might be hard but it can be pulled out off the printer. Hope this helps.

I can't use any USB, it needs a registration on my laptop.. but i don't know how.. help pls!

If you can't use any usb device, the usb function is disabled.

  • To enable the usb function you have to access the Bios setup of your Desktop.
  • By pressing Delete button, F2/F11 button or Esc button in order to open the Bios Settings.
  • During power on the button menu will show up (press the key right away before the Windows starts)
  • In Bios setup there are several menu. Check each of them until you found the settings for Usb Functions
  • If the Usb Functions is disable change it to enable
  • Then go to the Save Menu and Save to apply the settings you created. (Sometimes F10 button is use to save the settings)
  • Restart the computer
To check if the Usb Function is working in windows mode open:

Start Menu > Control Panel > System > Hardware tab > click Device Manager.

Under Device Manager
click the ( + ) sign in Universal Seria Bus Controller

You'll see all the Usb devices detected in your computer

Installed the scanner program for bjc-80 onto a Netbook with only USB ports...wont recognize printer/scanner,,,help

Netbooks usually doesn't have PCMCIA capability. what you sould do is to disable the bidirectional function of the printer. To disable the bidirectional support You have to open the printers properties. In the "printers and faxes" map, right click on the printer and choose properties. then on the "Ports" tab, down below there is a tick mark choice with some text like: "Enable bi-directional support " you have to clear the tick mark!

Good luck!

USB Ports are not working

s.gif s.gif

A USB device, such as a camera, scanner, or printer, loses its connection and stops working unexpectedly. The device may appear to work fine when Windows first starts up but later stops working. Use the steps in this document to resolve this issue. Disable power management on the USB hub To preserve power, Microsoft Window XP tries to disable USB when a device is not used. Under certain circumstances this function does not work and may cause USB devices to fail to respond when called. To resolve this issue, disable power management on the USB hub by doing the following:
  1. Click Start , and right-click My Computer .
  2. Click Properties , then click Hardware .
  3. Click Device Manager .
  4. Double-click the Universal Serial Bus Controllers branch to expand it.
  5. Right-click USB Root Hub , and then click Properties .
  6. Click Power Management .
  7. Deselect Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power .
  8. Repeat Steps 5 through 7 for each USB Root Hub.
  9. Click OK , and close Device Manager .
If this doesn't help download everesthome. Run the program click on the chipsets and google the northbridge for updates.
