Question about Averatec 3200 Notebook
I need to know how to reset the bios of my averatec 3200.
Open up the inside of the notebook, and you should see a watch style battery. Just remove it while the notebook is turned off and unplugged, and that will reset the BIOS for you.

When you refer to "Reset bios" I am going to assume that you are talking about just setting the BIOS (system setup) back to defaults but are instead referring to reinstalling the Operating system software (Windows XP).
(If you DO mean that you want to set the defaults back in the BIOS, just take out the CMOS battery or check out Chapter 6 in the manual below to read about the default factory settings in the BIOS Setup Utility).
If you don't have any of the CD's that came with that system, you will have to purchase an installation CD for Windows XP if you wish to reinstall.
I checked in the user manual for the 3200 series of that manufacturer and it states that you will need to install from the CD's that come with the system. I was looking to see if they create a partition on the hard drive that contains an image that you could restore from, but sadly, they don't do that.
Here is a link to the user manual. Check on page 48 to read what they have to say about Changing battery and BIOS setup. there you can reset the CMOS if that will help.
Follow this step to remove the battery. this will automatically reset the BIOS:
1. Turn off the computer.
2. Close the screen cover and turn the computer over.
3. Slide the side battery latch away from the battery. Continue to hold it until the battery is removed.
4. Remove the battery.
5. Make sure the replacement battery is properly orientated. Slide back the side battery latch then insert the main battery into the battery compartment. Check that the latch locks back into position.
