Question about Dryers

1 Answer

The dryer comes, the gas comes on and it runs for awhile. The gas shuts off like it is supposed to do but doesn't come back on. What could the problem be? Thank you!

Why does my gas dryer heat for 30 sec then i hear a click and the gas shuts off?

It's not supposed to run continually, there is a thermostat inside that regulates the temperature to about 130-150F, if it's not in that range you might need to change the cycle thermostat.

When the dryer is run on high it shuts off early and a PF is displayed on the panel.

Could be your circuit breaker is bad, I had this problem awhile back. Or the thermistor could be bad. Easy enough to order parts and replace yourself to save money. Just google it for your type and model of dryer to get parts.

Hi I have a kenmore elite oasis dryer. And all of a sudden it only will run for about a minute and then it shuts off. I tried turning it back on again and it does the same thing. Then after the third time...

The first suggestion I have for you is to simply run an Air Fluff cycle with no heat.

If the Air Fluff cycle runs okay then the problem is most likely with the thermistor.

You can try to run the dryer with the vent hose off and see if there is a difference.

I have a Kenmore gas dryer model 110.77670400. The ignitor lights, but gas valve doesn't open. I tested thermal switches in back for continuity and all checked good. Flame sensor is good and I replaced...

Hi,

Thank you for contacting fixya.com.

If one or more of the coils are defective, the valve doesn't open and the gas cannot ignite. Because it's often difficult to properly test the coils, it's usually best to replace both (all) of them at the same time. However unplug your Kenmore gas dryer from its electrical outlet. Make sure that all electricity has been disconnected from your dryer.

Turn off the gas valve that supplies gas to your Kenmore gas dryer. Remove the gas flex line at the shut-off valve using an adjustable wrench.

Remove your dryer's back panel. Take out the screws on the back of the dryer and the panel will come free. Set the panel and screws aside until you are ready to replace them.

Locate the thermal fuse between the dryer's blower housing and exhaust. The thermal fuse looks like a white plastic strip with two connected wires.

Please get back to us if you have further query else please accept the suggestion.

When I start the dryer in either auto or timer mode the burner starts and the heat comes on. It will run for awhile with heat and then the burner will shut off. The dryer continues to spin but no heat is...

With the limited information you gave I will assume this is a gas dryer that the flame starts for a minute or so and then shuts off. This problem is going to be your safety valve coils...basically they get old and over time of heating then cooling develop a short when they heat up...It may appear the gas lights to start but then goes out until the safety valve coils cool back down. Here is a picture of the coils 57d5263.jpgThis The coils are mounted to the gas safety valve, This should solve your problem. Hope this helps, Please feel free to comment again if you have any further questions or concerns. Good Luck! Mike

Heat shuts off after few minuets of running

Normal 0 Hi, You need to change the coils on the top of the gas valve. This is a very common problem with the newer gas dryers. We have them for $29.95 on out web site www.whilpoolpartssurplus.com
If I can assist you further on how to replace them, please let me know.

Thanks
