Ethernet driver for EPoX EP-8KDA3J

By shinob022 on Apr 14, 2009

I just installed windows XP on a computer that has an EPoX EP-8KDA3J motherboard and it does not appear to have the network adapter driver installed and I do not know what adapter it has on-board. I checked the EPoX website for a driver, but was not able to find one.

Does anyone know what driver I need or how to find out?

- Nothing shows up in terms of a network adapter. There are 4 uninstalled devices, two of them are the video and sound cards, which I can get the drivers for, and the others are a "SM Bus Controller" and a "Other PCI Bridge Device".

- I have tried to download the bios from their website, and none of their downloads seem to work.

- The mirror on that, and most sites, sends you to their website, where nothing seems to work.

I have this exact same mobotherboard. Did you install the chipset drivers? You need to download and install the nforce3 chipset driver. It includes the nic driver and all other things you're probably missing besides video and sound.

I should tell you that my onboard NIC had problems on this motherboard. Sometimes it would lose connection, sometimes it would make my pc take 5 minutes to boot up when the cable was plugged in or just crash my computer.

I just use a PCI nic now. But you'll want to install that driver anyway. If you use a PCI nic, then go to Control Panel, Network Connections and right click the nforce nic and click Disable.

Try updating the BIOS with the latest update that you can download here:

http://www.driverstock.com/Epox-EP-8KDA3J-driver-download/26-36-6615-55991/index.html

ignore the button that says to download the driver update pro, and scroll down a little further. You will have to enter a code to get the latest, then get back to me if it still doesn't work.
