When you are talking about isopropl alcohol on a soft cloth, what do you mean by: ''no guarantee there though''? Do you mean: no guarantee it will clean it, or no guarantee it will not destroy your monitor?

emramsay, Your monitor should never need to be cleaned!!! Dusted "off" with a feather duster... YES! You could try isopropl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) on a soft garuantee there though. I have heard that you shouldn't use windex or any of the other window cleaning products. Did LCD fall into a 55 gallon drum of used motor oil? Remember!!! Too much pressure on the lcd screen WILL CRACK IT!!!!!! A light touch is all that is required. I'm louie12fix on fixya or lmistyrel@ Bye for now.

It seems from your discription like your lcd back light my be failing, i suggest taking th tv back to where you bought it to see if they will repair it or give you a new one, it all depends on if it is still under warranty. If not it might be worth trying to get hold of a new back light of the internet and fitting it yourself though it can be quite hard and me back if you need further help.
