Harmon Kardon SoundStick II Right Speakers don't work!

Hello,

I have a pair of Soundstick II speakers on my iMac. Long story short - I've had a lot of problem with the right speaker. Only the left 1 works now. When the right speaker worked, it had very low volume compared to the left. Yes, I have checked the connections. Popped them out, blown air to make sure nothing was stuck in them. I even opened the right speaker stick and made sure all connections were in place. After a thorough inspection, everything is fine.

I suspect the problem is within the cable that runs from the speaker to the subwoofer. Possibly a busted wire inside is causing a short? Anyone have an ideas how to fix this?

Thanks

It's not so much that the right channel is quieter; more that only the high frequencies are present, which makes it sound like it's quieter. Other than that, I'd say I have the same problem.

Same thing here, right speaker volume is present but extremely low compared to left one. Connection cable? Component inside the sub?
    Help!

SOURCE: How do I disassemble + clean Harmon Kardon SoundStick subwoofer?

Check for a Fuse. Mine is an older model and has a Fuse right next to the power cord. It probably has a slot for a flathead screwdriver.

Has a speaker system ever worked on the iMac or is this the first try?

Does its onboard speaker work or is it muted? I'd start with some basic setup procedures.

Wow, general problem here, but the most near your problem could be, power failure, or the Power adapter is bad, or a energy failure at home, time to buy a new adapter.
