I had this problem. It was a continuous series of slow beeps. It was a memory problem. I swapped the memory and the system booted.

Those beeps indicate some tip of a hardware problem. You said it's new so did you properly set up the jumpers on your board for the hardware your are using? Check the manual that came with that board it will give you more details.

Hi, you can download a manual here:

Here is some more info:

I think one of the ram modules is defect.
Set the bios setting to auto for the ram and let it handle it itself.
It has to work together with the cpu. Maybe the cpu does not
supports 800 mhz.
Read all about that in the manual.

Dell power edge 2850 make 4 seconds beeps alarm without stopping and without show any error Msg on the screen.

I don't understand the beep code you describe, but the 2850 has many beep codes to help understand what is going on.

First ... Identify the beep. Does the beep start as soon as you power it on, or after several seconds? What is the pattern of the beep - is it a repeating set of beeps - 3 sets of beeps between 1 and 4 beeps ... like 1 beep-3 beeps-2 beeps, or 3 beeps, 3 beeps, 1 beep? Or is it a steady repeating beep - about once per second?

Second ... is the LCD panel on the server blue or orange? If orange, what is the error code(s) it is scrolling?

If it is a steady, once-per-second beep, it is probably your RAID controller. Does the system boot to Windows/OS ok? If so, use (or install) OpenManage Server Administrator (Managed Node from Dell's Support Site) to check the Hardware Logs and check the RAID array (under Storage/Virtual Disks). If it is not booting to the OS, then go into CTRL-M to see what the status of your array is.

Hey who ever this is im having bad problems with my motherboard or my bios ive tried everything i got ECS C51GM motherboard with the 6100 nvidia video display. icant run any full screen programs cause it...

Its not a bios problem but on insertion of video card your ram got some tampered. Just reinsert the video card and your ram properly and now start your system. It might solve your problem.

Problem booting into Windows.

This could be a hard drive problem. The hard drive is looking for the boot sector on it, but the boot sector is broken. Computer shuts down and tries again but your hard drive can't find the boot sector so it shuts down tries again etc.

PC will not boot, monitor is blank, & PC makes (1) single beep every few seconds

If you have its motherboard manual, try to check its beep code. This will give you some clue on what is the fault.

Usually this could be dirty contact of RAM and video card. Try to clean its contact or you can try to reseat it first. If that not fix it clean it with clean soft eraser, its edge contact connector. But do this with your unit completely power off and unplugged from wall socket and UPS if you have.

Or some shorted component. Try to check it one by one to find the fault.

Post comment if this doesn't fix it.

Won't pass startup bios / screen

Make a note of the number of beeps and whether they are long or short. Put the old video card back in the machine. Go online and do a search for "bios beep codes", check what you wrote down and see what the problem was. It was probably a video error. Perhaps you should install the video drivers for your new card before you install it, that way it might avoid the error on startup.

Video controller drivers not found

That is the nvidia driver you need.

However to get it to work right boot into safe mode, uninstall the Windows generic drivers, cancel the auto install and then run this driver's install program.

The beeps that you are hearing are messages created by the POST (Power On Self Test) to indicate that something is wrong. If you know your motherboard type it is possible to find the documentation explaining what 3 beeps mean.

Because we don't know the motherboard type (At least for now) let's use the common sense.  Did you verify that the power supply is properly connected to the drive?  Can you confirm that removing the second Hard drive it boot again ok? In some type of BIOS 3 beeps means memory problem. By accident did you touch the memory? Are all the ribbon cables well plugged in?
