Question about Home Theater Systems

1 Answer

Home Entertainment We are planning on purchasing a new big screen t.v. and I'm sure I should get a new sound system at the same time. I have an older Sherwood RV-5030R amp. and it says in the manual it has Dolby 3 Stereo and Dolby Pro-Logic Surround. I also have a Mission 70ASA powered subwoffer. Should I use either of these units? I know nothing about sound systems.

Re: Home Entertainment

It depends on what you want. Is your existing solution a surround sound system (You only mention a subwoofer, what other speakers do you have?)? Do you want full 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound? If you don't have this, and want it, your amp will have to be replaced, but your sub will fit in just fine. If you currently only have front left and right speakers, you will need to purchase a centre speaker and another pair (5.1) or two pairs (7.1) of speakers.

PS3 to Bose Lifestyle 28

hey, this is how i have mine set up.

Bose to PS3 via Digital Audio Optical
PS3 to TV via HDMI

This way you can get Full 5.1 surround sound, and good picture quality, also, go to the bose menu and set the optical source to your PS3.

Want to listen to tv channels through home entertainment system

You need to get a 2 to 1 plug, that is, one will be connected to the earphone side of the TV and the other two will be connected to the Auxiliary or Video of your home system.

Check first, before going to buy so that you can get appropriate one.

Best wishes

Hello, i have a vizio flat screen tv and i don't know the correct places to connect the cables of my Bose Lifestyle 48 Series IV DVD Home Entertainment System. Please help me

Does the Bose have HDMI out? Does the tv have an HDMI socket?
If it does just connect them both together. All inputs i.e. cd, ps3 dvd etc will go into the Bose.
