Mitsubishi WS-55807. TV was in use when the screen just shut off. Pressing the button to turn it back on, it would initiate for maybe a second (green light up front turned on) and then shut back off right away. I've done some research through here and other sites and found out that it has a self diagnostic ability. Code thrown was 2 flashes, slight pause, two flashes, long pause. This occurred five times as stated. I looked for a blown fuse (which was suggested in this site) and came across a circuit chip that showed signs of being fried (fuse that I found, 12v FD900, was not blown). I've taken this part out and it has these numbers on the back "211A36401" with a "G" that is in a box to the right and a small, backwards, capitol "E" to the right of that. Directly to the left of "211A36401" number is another set of character/number "CMKI-P3X". Visually, this part appears to be fried and has a certain smell to it. I am just not certain of this parts actual designated part number as any research I do, I come up with parts of the same number with a totally different appearance than what I have. I would like to speak more on this if someone has time and knowledge.

Code 22 indicates that your set is in shut down due to what is called Short Protect. The most likely cause is the Converge Ic's drawing too much current and opening one or 2 fuses. Normal repair cost varies by area and servicer. Expect 250 to 350 plus the service call. I normally do this on site.

SOURCE: Stays on for 2 seconds and switches off

A 2-2 code on that unit means over current shutdown. 95% of the time that code indicates defective convergence output IC's.

The convergence amplifiers need to be replaced.
This set may have one big amplfier chip rather than two.
The chip(s) will be on a big aluminum heatsink.
There may be bad resistors related to these chips, as well as one or two fuses that are open.
I've replace many convergence amplifiers.
If you have good soldering skills and ac test fuses and resistors, you can do the repair yourself. Caution that even with the set unplugged, there could still be dangerous voltages present on some components.
Search this site for specific convergence repair related to your set.

Good Day, Girl 1;
Hey, Girl 1, I have four girls not counting my wife . So, helping you may be difficult. Just kidding!
I would highly suspect that you have fluid on your TV's PCB's (printed circuit boards).
So, at this point that you should call an Authorized Service Center and have them give you an estimate before any repairs are performed.
If you want to try repair on your own e me at [email protected].

Thanks you and Good Luck, big IRISH.

WS-55807 power up problem

If you are handy with a multimeter you can check all of the pico fuses the little green 5 amp fuses. Most likley you will find one of those shorted F95A01 most likley but could be another. You will need to change this and also your convergence amps. These three parts are most likely shorted in your set. You are looking at about 250-350 from a competent repair shop.

TV won' turn on

Solder, solder, solder! Shut down circuits protect crts to avoid permanent damage. If any of the deflection circuits are defective, or intermittent, shut down occurs. I have not only seen bad solder on deflection circuits, especially vertical, but also intermittent connections on the yokes themselves. I've also seen shorted convergence ics cause shut down. Don't forget solder connections in the power supply.
